Buy Tea, Get 600 Card Packs or Khadgar - Taiwan Gets a Hearthstone Promotion
This news comes to us from jknows26 on reddit.
Oh Khadgar you fool, you've done it again and gotten yourself trapped in a regional promotion! Blizzard is running a promo in Taiwan where you can purchase tea, obtain points, and redeem those points for Blizzard goodness. Hearthstone players have a couple of options.
- 500 Points - 1 Card Pack
- 2500 Points - Khadgar Hero
- Additional chance to win a grand prize of 600 card packs
You can check out the webpage they have up for the promotion over on GoBlizzard.tw. All the tea cartons have Hearthstone art on them, check them out below!
Loot Codes
It should also be noted that it states that codes can only be redeemed on "Asian" servers. For players outside of Taiwan, obtaining a code from someone within the country should be able to unlock the Hero for you on that region. The codes won't work for Europe or Americas though, so don't get your hopes up that this is a way to obtain Khadgar if he is missing from your collection. Buy at your own risk!
Historically Speaking
It has been 5 months since we last saw Khadgar popup. Back in February, Khadgar was available in China for a Heroes of the Storm promotion which required players to win 5 games. There is no word on whether we'll see Khadgar come back in a promotion targetted towards a Western audience. Every promotion last year targetted the East with China seeing him twice and South Korea once.
Too hard, my dude. Some people are too busy focusing on how slighted they are.
It is actually discrimination, just not racism. To treat a group of people differently than another, be it worse or better, for whatever reason, is discrimination. The discrimination here is that it is only available in Taiwan.
Is that bad? No, sometimes discrimination is awesome.
* I get a different lunch because I'm lactose-intolerant.
* People who can't walk get a wheelchair from health insurance.
* Old people can retire from work.
This promotion is discrimination, but I'm pretty sure there's no victims; if the Taiwanese didn't get it, it would be probable that nobody would be getting it.
Dios mia.. save us from people who can't figure out the difference between actual discrimination and exclusivity of business.
This is the only hero I've wanted since the start of playing, but I've never had a chance to get him. #GIVE ALL REGIONS A CHANCE...
I hope both of you have a great week, and something very positive happens that improves your moods!
I hope you start to feel life more realistic instead of being delusional
Do this in Germany with beer, in Russia with vodka and in the Balkans with moonshine = profit
Do this in Germany, with beer.
Profit.
Everyone'd be Khadgar then.
Khadgar is a pretty shit wizard.
The people who downvoted this just don't get it, it's OK:)
Good for 'the real China'
"The right to be pissed". Over a vanity hero? Holy shit, dude. You've got such minor problems in life if this is what you consider something where you hold 'the right to be pissed'. And no, you really haven't been lied to whatsoever. If you bothered to do even the tiniest mote of research on just about the only reliable platform for such, Blizzard's own forums, you'd find that Community Relations Managers have repeatedly said that "it'll come back, but we have no details to offer, so we aren't saying anything". How much do you want an update of 'no update'?
And really? It's super easy for people to just up and drum up advertising revenue, cross-product promotion, design graphics for it, roll it out, and then of course just super easy profit? Man, I wish I knew what you did about business. I'd be effing rich, guy.
You think this is about 'trashy treatment' and 'hypocrisy'? You clearly don't know the first thing about business, regional exclusivity, branding, marketing or anything approaching implementation of any of the above. So you stomp, you be mad, and when you're done, the adults will be over here patiently waiting for another crack at the vanity heroes that make a 5% difference in your play experience. And I'm only giving you 5% because if voice emotes and animations are what's doing it for you, I suppose that should be accounted for.
So yeah, I'll meh at you between peals of laughter.
Downvote AkiraTerion all you want, he's 100% right. The sense of entitlement is staggering nowadays.
i hope you have bad RNG in packs and games.
Hearthpwn...?
Might be time for you guys to permanently close down the comments across your site. Seriously. :|
Nah, they've got it right. If we allowed petulance or ignorance to shut down an entire comment system, they'd never exist anywhere on the internet.
Claiming this is "racist" on Blizzard's part isn't petulance or ignorance, it's pure undiluted dipshittery.
I'm fairly sure we're both right. It is dipshittery. I'm simply quantifying what kind of dipshittery is in play here.
