The 2018 Hearthstone Championship Tour Americas Summer Playoffs Survival Guide

This weekend is home to the HCT Americas Summer Playoffs 2018! The top four players from this event will be attending the Summer Championship near the end of June.

All the details you need for the event can be found down below. All decklists can also be found here with the usual stats.

HCT Americas Summer Playoffs Schedule

The schedule for this weekend's event can be found below. If your timezone isn't listed, get out that calculator! The first day will be 6 rounds of Swiss with the final round of Swiss taking place on Day 2 before all Double Elimination bracket matches.

HCT Americas Summer Playoffs Format

Best of Five Conquest.
Each player bans one of the opponent's decks.
Top 8 from Swiss move to the Double Elimination Stage.
If a player loses 4 matches, they no longer receive games in the Swiss bracket and are eliminated from the event.
Top 4 from Double Elim. go to the Summer Championships.

Though there is some information on the tournament itself there needs to be details on the "survival" part of watching the HCT in order to say this thread was a guide on survival. Maybe some tips on drinking water or getting enough sleep or something.

I am so disappointed that we have to wait these guys to see who the first mustache appears in order to see the nerfs. I would like to have fun with Hearthstone in my free time. But no, we can’t, we have to wait the “pro players”. 20 days we have to wait for the nerfs for their mustaches. It is incredible.

And by the way. Blizzard cannot you open a separate server for your turnaments? You are the first company in video games and you are forcing millions of customers in watching who will be among these guys the first with a mustache. I don’t know it seems very easy to me. Open a separate server for your turnament were you can put or not the new patches and give to us the new patches without waiting them.

I am not even in hurry to get the nerfs. But announcing that the cards will be nerfed but not announcing what the nerf actually will be has made me desperate.

If they did not intend to tell us what the nerf will be then they should not have announced that they will be nerfing some cards. Everyone knew that a nerf was bound to happen.

They are waiting for tournaments for 2 reasons. One is of course not to disrupt them, but second reason is that they use statistics from tournaments to finalize the nerf (that is the reason they didn't tell what nerfs would be yet, because they haven't decided yet)

They said during kobolds era once that stats from ladder are not enough, because it is hard to see if card is strong or just seems strong because people are misplaying against it... In tournament the actually strong cards can be confirmed...

The tournaments are important. The whims of spoiled children are IRRELEVANT.

History has shown that Blizzard does the voting for packs in the Seasonal Championship rounds only. This is just a playoff round where the top 4 go to Summer Championship.
