Patch 11.1: Shudderwock & Lifedrinker Animation Speed Up, Arena Card Rates

A new patch has hit the live servers with a change to Shudderwock's animation speed and maximum battlecries, Lifedrinker's animation speed, and the appearance rate of some arena cards.

In this small update, we’re changing a pair of Battlecry animations and tuning Arena draft rates.

Read on for details!

Doubled the speed of Shudderwock’s Battlecry animation.

Shudderwock now reproduces a maximum of 20 Battlecries.

Doubled the speed of Lifedrinker’s Battlecry animation.

Arena

Updated the appearance rate of cards to improve class balance by win percentage. For example, Paladin had a higher than average win rate, and should now be closer to average.

Bug Fixes

Corrected the art on the Soul Assimilation Monster Hunt card.

[Android] Updating Hearthstone via the client no longer triggers a warning about installing an app from an unknown source.

yeaah i did i played shudderwick still (not the otk version but a murlock version )

Hmm, and you would say that a limit to 20 Battlecry repeats would have such a significant impact? I had the feeling that a maximum of 20 would be more than enough - especially considering that there are ways to play more than one Shudderwock per game.

Yogg + brann is double max spells of yogg so it would be reasonable to assume the same for shudderwock

So I guess with the 20 battlecry cap, In theory, since the Shaman OTK deck runs 14 battlecries on average, it's possible that given the order of some of the battlecries this wouldn't quite be lethal in some situations. Granted this does *nothing* about having multiple shudderwocks bounced back to hand for 1 mana...but I guess this means that with a cap on the battlecries it could mean some of the shudderwocks wouldn't do as much damage...

This will be interesting to see how it affects Shudderwock decks (maybe).

It doesn’t really, because only suboptimal decks run a lot of battlecries. OTK has only select few.

put a limit of 20 battle cry is not small, you have infinity battle cry, so 20 is a seriuos Nerf

FYI: "right" does not mean what you *think* it means.

Also, this is a quality of life adjustment. It may have a side effect of being a small nerf (practically speaking). So, in reality, it is a buff to game enjoyment.

hahaha i read your post funny that you are now the person say stop whining XD

Secondly, Quest Rogue is problematic in that specific removal spells become literally UNPLAYABLE, instead of fixing the interaction originally, they just made it harder to complete the quest last time around. Now with new broken interactions, that is no longer an issue and ...oh look...quest rogue cancer is back.
