The Standard Brawliseum Has Taken Over Tavern Brawl This Week!
Welcome back, gladiator! Build a deck for Standard format this time and compete for glorious prizes!
Trivia
- This is the first time we are seeing the standard version of this brawl.
- This brawl is much like past Heroic Brawls but instead uses the Arena reward structure.
- One free entry to the brawl is given to all players.
How it Works
This Tavern Brawl is a cross between what we're used to seeing for Heroic Brawls and bits of Arena.
- You will pay an entry fee equal to an Arena run to take part in this Tavern Brawl.
- Using cards in your own collection, you build a deck for the standard format.
- Like Arena or a Heroic Brawl, once you lose 3 games in the Standard Brawliseum you are out.
- Rewards will be given to players based on their performance with their deck, equal to the Arena reward structure as seen below.
- Your first run of this brawl will be free! There's nothing to lose!
Share Your Brawliseum Decks
Using our deckbuilder, you can share your decks and strategy for this week's brawl. Use the deckbuilder normally but when saving your deck, make sure you change the Deck Type to "Tavern Brawl" and the brawl to "The Standard Brawliseum". Following these instructions will help other players find your deck. Don't forget to include screenshots to show proof of your wins and losses!
makes sense lol
It's like constructed. With packs.
I am having a good time with my Control Lock. No, I am not using Cube or Doomguard in my deck, I play Rin and 2 Voidlords.
Currently I am at 10-2. I am facing a lot of Taunt Druids or Greymane Paladins.
Funny thing is that my only 2 losses yet were against Cubelock.
Wish me luck for my next match!
Good luck with your next matches!
I can't say for this expansion as I haven't played a lot of control warlock, but last expansion it always kind of struggled against cube as cube just has an easier win condition. I know it's too late now, but if you want to try again with the same deck, you can try to sub in a Sacrificial Pact as it lets you easily kill one of their threats before they can cube it and faceless etc. It's also kind of just funny to be able to use such typically bad card in a way that is incredibly strong.
Thank you, that's actually a pretty good suggestion.
I finished with 11-3, all 3 losses being against Cubelock... To be honest, the last one was my own fault. It looked like a save win for me and I did not play Gul'dan as I had the board and my opponent barely had anything left. However he managed to kill me with Yseras 5 damage to all characters spell. Without that spell (or if I had played Gul'dan) it would have been 12-2. :)
Anyways, I am pretty happy with the results and will definitely try again with Sacrificial Pact!
Played 6 games so far, 5 vs spiteful druid. Haven't seen a single warlock so far :)
I FUCKING HATE CUBELOCK
MORE THAN Highlander priest, more than aggro shaman, more than jade druid, more than anything that was overpowered in the existence of this game
mother fucking cube locks
I feel you man. Five of my six opponents in my run were CubeLocks. The two games I won vs. them were so damn satisfying tho.
Dread it. Run from it. Cubelock still arrives.
Wild Brawliseum was way more fun, the deck variety in Wild is just so much larger and it makes for a much more pleasent experience. Played about 7 runs now and I'm definitelly done playing Standard this year.
I would love to see the deck as well.
Hagatha is so awesome lol. I cant think of a shaman deck not including this card, it outvalues everything a shaman can put in a deck
Do you mind if I were to post this list in the actual deck list, credit you, and add your little right up stuff? It seems like a really cool deck and it feels like it is a waste to not have it get some time in the spotlight.
Sometimes I wonder if Tyrantus ist the only card Spiteful Summoner can summon when you play against Spiteful Druid
There are only 5 cards now in standard, which can be summoned from Spiteful Summoner for 10 mana (a.k.a. through Ultimate Infestation: Deathwing, Tyrantus, Ultrasaur, Sea Giant and Emeriss). So actually the possibility for Tyrantus is 20%.
Went 12-0 for the first time with my version of spiteful druid.
insane skills please teach me master
Don’t play standard but threw together an even Paladin deck. Went 10 wins. Lost first game to odd hunter who got lucky with some rng, lost to even rogue when I drew terribly and lost my final as a mirror match. Beat spiteful druid, oakheart druid, quest rogue, spiteful priest, aggro mage, two warlocks and three pallies.
Deck is pretty easy to play. I generally play control decks in wild which is much more enjoyable and interesting to play, but I do have to say banging out games in 10 or so turns is refreshing to some degree. Still, every game was so repetitive I don’t know how people play these decks over and over to climb the ladder. The game is pretty much determined by turn 5. Only the oakheart druid game was interesting as the board state flipped multiple times during it. The rest, over one way or other on turn 5. I’d prefer to think my choices mattered in my games.
Went 11-3 with control priest, lost to cubelocks.
just went 9-3 tempo rogue and lost to 2 cubes and an odd paly. Im really thinking, "if you cant beat em, join em". its so frustrating playing against a deck with so few weaknesses.
