Shudderwock and Lifedrinker Battlecry Animation Update
It looks like Blizzard will be updating the Animation for Shudderwock and Lifedrinker in a future update.
Quote from Jesse Hill Recently, our players have had feedback regarding the Shaman card, Shudderwock. We understand that the length of its Battlecry animation and other animations spawned from its Battlecry can be frustrating.
In a future update, we will be doubling the animation speed of Shudderwock’s Battlecry so it will lessen the impact on the overall pacing of your current Hearthstone match. In addition, the amount of Battlecries Shudderwock can reproduce will be capped at 20.
We will also be speeding up the animation of Lifedrinker for similar reasons.
Thank you for your feedback, and we’ll see you in the Tavern.
Cheers!
It was fun to play, cause it was something new OTK.I dont played this deck, but I like the idea of it.Changing animation speed is good, killing a deck - is bad
Double is right y’all. PEACE
I'm just surprised to see any blizzard activity at all.
As it seems that there is only one reasonably viable shudderwock deck I also don't really understand this change if it came from a power level perspective.
If it's just about the animation: Speed up the animation by 10% after each animation. => no matter how many battlecries there are, it will not take longer than 10 standard animations would take (it would be a flashy screen at the end though :D).
But ... in the end it's indeed a risk to keep the current all battlecry description. As there might be some disgusting combos coming that will be hard to foresee
so, "repeat all other battlecries" seems pretty different than repeat 20 battlecries...
waiting for the refund!
The stupid thing with Shudderwock is people not conceding after the first murmuring elemental + Shudderwock turn. Bitch, you know you're gonna take 450 damage to your face next turn, but oh noooo, you're too stupid or too suttborn to concede. I always try to emote to let my opponent know they're dead, but some of them just want to have 15 minutes of their time wasted I guess.
They probably went AFK, but they want to make sure it costs the shudderwock player 15 minutes to get his win.
Howlfiend, Treachery, Defile
Edit: Or if you can't get defile to proc enough times you can mortal coil it twice as well.
What do you want? A short game playing that brainless deck. Well, ENJOY your 15 minutes (now less).
the deck is far from brainless. it's not easy for shamans to survive paladin normally, they have been backed into a corner with the otk deck as their only good option regardless of skill. though hagatha murlocs has been seeing some results, it's so skill intensive that it can't be played by the majority.
Its a great moment for a bathroom break yeah. Also If you are going to play a toxic deck I will be damn sure you have to watch it all too.
That is so dumb and childish. Must be HS players.
Does reduced cap of casted battlecries to 20 mean it's the nerf, or not? I mean, will we get dust refund (most likely not) or not?
This nerf is coming a bit too late, but still should happen.
The battlecry cap doesn't cover the effect Shudderwock has on the games it does win. Just because this deck is rarely successful on ladder doesn't mean it doesn't need a nerf, but it needs a better nerf: make it cast the battlecries in order to eliminate cheating out Grumble early, make the battlecries stop casting if Shudderwock is removed from the field (like Yogg does in his post-nerf state), and lower the cap on battlecries to maybe 10.
Nerfing this card now will help reduce problematic decks in the future.
It's not a nerf you chimp; the deck doesn't need one. It's a fix to the animation - the only issue.
the card is only doing about 11 battcries a play. the problem is that hte card is spamed to win. so in effect, your seeing 22 battlecries from the doubling effect every time the card is played.
