Dean Ayala on Shudderwock: Revisiting the Topic Early Next Week
Dean Ayala tweeted this evening that the team is going to be looking into Shudderwock feedback early next week.
How do you feel about Shudderwock? I can definitely agree with the animations being a bit on the long side and would definitely at least appreciate a less excruciating death.
Quote from Dean AyalaWe’ll be reading more feedback over the weekend and will revisit the Shudderwock topic early next week. Checking out both animation timings and feedback on the deck playstyle itself. Let us know what you think and enjoy Witchwood!
The best change that can be made to shudderwock in my opinion would be to change the text of chain gang to make a copy of chain gang that shares the same attack and health instead of just a copy, the animation is way to slow as well
Only thing is if they shorten animations it’ll just let you play more copies and we’ll just have to sit thru that either way
not fast enough
Woah! That was really sudden. Almost two days since expansion was released! Good job Blizz. Let’s hope it gets fixed proper!
Fastest nerf ever
Hope this won't be a nerf. Card is good. I think they'll just do something with animation
Unlikely. They've repeatedly talked about how OTKs with no chance of response aren't OK and have now created the worst of those the game has seen. Worgen OTK for warrior at least had a weakness to a taunt heavy deck.
Warlock has two options with Gnomeferatu and a complicated strat of defiling that card that discards a card every time it takes damage after you give that demon to the Shaman... and then having a perfect ramp up. Luckily, the shaman will almost inevitably have 1/2/3 for you with totems. :D
Honestly, I tried playing this deck and after going 3-0 for my shaman win quest, I deleted it out of my decks. It's awful. It's not even that fun to play... if I wanted to play solitaire, I'd do that. Taking down your opponent with absolutely no real regard for what they're doing except to make sure you volcano on a good board, hex something that can spiral out of control, and heal yourself to stay out of range of burst while waiting for not that many cards for the combo that can be played whenever you want because it doesn't matter like other OTKs where you legit needed a full set of cards in hand for one turn to win.
First of all, it's not an otk. It's more like Raza priest, which requires certain cards to be played prior to make it work. Secondly, any fast-ish deck beats it pretty reliably. Baku Hunter slaughters it, all aggro pallys flatten it, and even tempo mage, which lost a lot in this rotation, beats it without too much effort. The problem is not that it is broken; it's the turn timer thing. I've never met anyone who wants to sit for 30 minutes waiting to die. Especially not control players who already have longer games than normal
