New Details on The Witchwood's Monster Hunt - Cannoneer, Time-Tinker, Hagatha
Shacknews sat down with Ben Brode this weekend at PAX East to talk about Witchwood. Here's the new stuff we learned!
- Cannoneer starts with a Cannon on board which is fired via Hero Power. It blasts targets across from it - positioning yay!
- Time-Tinker's final boss fight is herself from the future.
- Clearing Monster Hunt with all four classes makes them all join forces against Hagatha, the ultimate boss.
Ben Brode also said he thinks Cubelock may continue to be strong and if it's too strong, it may need to be nerfed. Also, there's a Shaman card coming which players will "lose their minds about".
I miss our Rap God.
Cubelock has a similar WR than Secret Mage, and less than Silver hand and Murloc Paladin. I don't understand why people hate it so much when Secret Mage can easily defeat it thanks to face spell damage.
Mainly because 3 other decks you mention lose a lot of cards, while cubelock loses only like 1 or 2 depending on your tech choices...
It limits deck innovation. When a deck is as popular as that is, there needs to be a direct counter that can make it wanna cry. But currently, even direct counters have only about 50/50 against it. Maybe you can make the counter even more crazy and go about 70% against the cube-lock. But then that deck would lost a lot against the aggro decks.
Actually the problem of Hearthstone is how rock-paper-scissor the meta is. And also how limited deck designing is. When a card totally eclipses all other cards, or when a certain card is so powerful that when it's drawn it increase the deck's win reate by 20%+, that is bad.
Constructed needs to become a little more like arena. Winning little by little every turn, going back and forth, without many huge swings that instantly win the game. Sure, there should be a few of them to make the game exciting. But currently, the best decks are those that instantly do something crazy, not leaving room for response.
Well, exodia mage has 100% winrate against cube and control locks and still is a decent deck overall
srsly? Not sure you have ever played cubelock, downvoting sirs.
rock paper scissors is the preferred TCG meta style, as it allows for adjustment and multiple decks to fit inside the work space. this means in a 9 type game, a majority of the choices can be 'meta relevant'
YES NERF CUBELOCK!!!
and make cost of call of arms 5 mana
Incredible decision MEDO_053 and nerf Sunkeeper Tarim
Sure, then nerf the next deck that everyone complains about. Then when that is nerfed, nerf the next deck that everyone complains about. Then, after all those nerfs, nerf the next deck that everyone complains about. That way, no deck can every be good and it will be balanced!
^ This.
I agree completely. The community is way too quick to call for nerfs and never truly considers the repricussions. Nerf one powerful archetype and another will rise to take its place. Blizzard has to look at the bigger picture before making a game changing nerf. Give it a month after the rotation and then see if Cubelock is truly as oppressive as feared. If so, they’ll take appropriate measures.
Everyone remember the “Control Killer” Jade Druid? Anyone also remember that despite the numerous requests for nerfs which never came directly (unless you count Innervate and spreading plague) Jade Druid dropped to Tier 3/bottom of 2 for the last 4 months? Jade was probably the most hated deck of 2017 and yet somehow it disappeared due to the meta not being favorable towards it. And not nerfs. So it’s important to see how the meta treats Cubelock before we go on a Witch(wood) hunt
Funny listening to people claim they know more than. Brode about what is and isn't. They have access to all the data regarding HS..not vicious sindicate or HSReplay users...all the data. He's also employed as the Director of the game you play....childish nonsense. Cubelock is totally fine..it can be beaten and is by no means broken. Stop whining and get good..that's ultimately what it is, not only on a skill basis but on a psychological basis, get good at dealing with the fact that there are going to be games you lose. Or move game...I cope fine with cubelock, so what is the difference between me and all you moany little kiddies?
