Great card, and fills the the weakest turn 5 mage slot really well.
If you play elemental mage, turn 5 is not weakest turn. There is a really good card for turn 5.Servant of Kalimos. If you dont have this card at turn 5, you can combine Steam Surger and second Fire Fly.
Great card
This card is pretty good for an elemental mage, however, the main problem of elemental mages is that they don't really have a win condition. Basically elemental decks are tempo decks that cannot make any tempo swings (because they don't have tools for it). So you just throw slightly improved Chillwind Yetis on curve (in the best case scenario) and hope that it will work. Mages don't even have Kalimos, Primal Lord (and even Kalimos in a much more minion-oriented class didn't make elemental decks viable).
Sure, with Archmage Arugal and Book of Specters you'll be able to draw crapload of cards, but they'll still lack power and you'll lose tempo by playing them. Unless we'll get some elementals (or cards synergizing with them) with Duskbreaker's level of BrokeBackness.
I think they´re trying to turn elemental mage into Spiteful Mage, using few spells and more minions.
This card is interesting. Seems like a nice fit.
Finally I did list with it. Comment plz:)
i think the idea is to get it off oakheart
Not a bad card but I think given that this is a fire elemental there was an opportunity missed to have some sort of conditional board clear to make minion mage a little more viable.
1. Cut Servant of Kalimos
2. Run this
3. ????????
4. This format of comment dies.
5. PROFIT !
I am the only one that gets slightly disappointed when a card gets the text "draw a card". I mean I understand that it's necessary to have draw mechanics, but at the same time I really would've liked a text with more "flavor".
you're not the only one, it's probably the most overused and uninteresting effect. A draw effect feels like a "skip over this card effect and find an actually interesting cool one in your draw". Plus any and all card draw cards are pointless to me, they are strictly worse than Discover/Add effects since they will get you closer to fatigue. My mage deck runs 0 card draw.
but i
Baku Elemental Mage? lol
It feels like Mage Elemental is being forced. This deck basically builds itself with these reveals.
Not all decks that build themselves are decks that are forced. Take N'Zoth for example, it is obvious what kinds of deathrattles you would use if you put N'Zoth in a warlock, priest, or warrior deck.
Azure Drake
But conditionally better O.O
