Mossy Horror looks kind of neat. It's solid anti-aggro tech, but turn 6? Or 5 with The Coin? A little slow for its intended role, IMO. Respectable as mid to late game tech as anti-Spreading Plague or Voidwalker-post-Voidlord-spread tech. Also those pesky Call to Arms that come with low health taunts or straight up flood.
Splitting Festeroot feels reasonably
overcostedevenwith the split effect.I get that it's 8/8 in bodies, but tempo-wise.. eeee...You're still gonna take a tempo hit, but it could prove worthwhile. Edit: It has been brought to my attention that the saplings split AGAIN, making 12/12 in bodies. Okay. That's pretty neat. Edit 2: Oh hey, there's pictures of the tokens up now. Again, that's neat.Festeroot Hulk looks interesting and feels like it'll have synergy with all the Rush cards. I'm just wondering if it'll have a home with that statline. Maybe some synergy with Taunt-granting abilities to be had.
Festerroot is 12/12 in stats :)
Splitting Festeroot is 12/12 in bodies, but your point still stand about it for sure.
Savannah Highmane says hi to Splitting Festeroot and laughs at him xD
Yeah this card also makes no sense to me. Way too understated, or is highmane just overstated? I don't get it. This card could have been 7 or 6 mana and I don't think anyone would have complained. Can make Seeping Oozeling more reliable. Those 2/2s probably don't split as that could just be broken with Carnivorous Cube. Well the 2/2s do split so the card does seem a little better now, still very slow.
Highmane is 10/9 stats for 6 mana while Splitting Festeroot is 12/12 for 8 mana, so it's 2 mana extra for 2/3 worth of stats. Furthermore, Festeroot has an additional layer of deathrattles to get through in order to clear it. But a 4/4 on turn 8 that has no immediate board effect and trades badly? I agree Highmane is the superior card.
What are we missing about the Splitting Festeroot ? Like this, it is insanely bad.
I don't know why,but this art to me in first glance looks like James Sullivan from Monster.INC
Well, it scares off little dudes. So it makes sense
But I thought... Ben Brode promised... the return of Face Hunter...
Do the splitting sapplings have an effect as well?
They do! They’re 3 mana 2/2s that themselves split into 2 1/1s each upon death.
Yes they have:
Deathrattle: Summon 2 1/1 Minions
So it's 8 mana 4/4 -> 2x 2/2 -> 4x 1/1
really ? if so thats the most sticky minion printed so far
So it's Stampeding Kodo on roids? Or Shadow Word: Horror with legs? Either way l like it.
I also think it's pretty funny that it can destroy other copies of itself. So if this species becomes close to being instinct anytime soon, they have everything to blame on themselves.
Ben Brode: Lets design a card together.
Designer. Oh really. Do you have an idea?
Ben Brode: Lets combine rotated out cards.
Designer: Which ones?
Ben Brode: Shadow Word: Horror and Pint-Size Potion
