I did an experiment with Eater of Secrets and it only got +1/+1 and not +2/+2.
I did it with that card because it gains stats for each secret
similar to Totem Cruncher witch gains stats for each totem.
So I'm probably wrong but like you said we'll see.
Even cost shaman, I guess?
Really really good in even shaman
Draenei Totemcarver vs Totem Cruncher (in Wild)
1 Totem: 5/5 vs 4/5 Spott;
2 Totem: 6/6 vs 6/7 Spott;
4 Totem: 8/8 vs 10/11 Spott;
but TC destroys the totems, DT not.
= Both good cards in a totem deck.
Problem in a modern totem deck: Windshear Stormcaller needs the totems.
Yeah but you aren't considering that cruncher destroys the totem so you are losing out on 2 stats and some small benefit most of the time.
So it's actually 6 mana 5/7(+upside) or 6/6 vs. 6 mana 4/3 (losing upside) or 3/4
The cruncher is absolute garbage. Even if you don't have any totem on board and using your hero power T6 and then play this you paid 6 mana for a yeti with taunt. You don't want to pay 6 mana for a yeti that has only taunt, it needs to do something REAAAALLY good for it to be worth it.
new card reveal utter garbage
Weasel is dead, long live the Beaver!
how is this a good card, if you have an empty board, its a 6 mana for 4/5 taunt.
let's say you have 2 totems on turn 5 and play this, its 6/7 taunt for 8 mana, and had to play it for 3 turns
If it's 2 mana, then ok, but at 4, it's not playable.
At 2 mana it would be broken...
Could be a little op when played at the right turn,
But shaman needs an op card to push the totem deck.
thanks but no thanks... we don't need new cancer... (even though shaman is my favorite class and all)
I'm not sure what angle they have with this expansion.. but so far its 150% horseshit
So there are the four basic totems in shaman, Flametongue Totem, Mana Tide Totem, Primalfin Totem, Nightmare Amalgam, and synergy cards like Kobold Hermit and Primal Talismans for totems. I think you basically only want to crunch the four basic totems, so generation of these totems are important, so cards like Kobold Hermit and Primal Talismans that before were unplayable, could be used. This would need to kill at least 2 totems for it to see play though. This card will be much fun to play
Windshear Stormcaller hates him
if you destroy 1 totem you get a 4 mana 4/5 with taunt. You could call it slightly better than a yeti, but assuming the only totems you destroyed were basic totems then you actually gave up 2 stats and usually an affect. if it was the 1/1 then 2 stats for 4 stats so 2 stat plus, if it was the healing totem there goes some wide healing which can be useful and only plus 2 stats, if it's the spell power totem only plus 2 stats plus and your clear gets a little worse. Sometimes you can't get totems to stick as well so if you want to use the affect then it's more akin to a 6 mana 4/5 taunt which is pretty bad.
God help you if you actually kill card totems. It's bad and if you want a 6 mana 4/5 taunt then just get the apple tree which is a 5 mana 4/5 that heals you when it dies. The two things that this has over that is the fact that you can play it on 4 and maybe you'll already have a totem up, and it's a beast which isn't that important in Shaman.
I mean the situation why you would play this card over the apple tree is because somehow your board ends up flooded with totems and you need some board space... and if you can flood your board with totems you may as well be using totem buffing cards instead of this things. too bad this can't eat enemy totems... Also why isn't this a crab?!?
Good fun card, and will work very well in Genn Shaman.
I'm excited to try and build a totem shaman deck, this card will definitely be in it.
Hmm, how often will this be a 4 mana 10/11 compared to a 6 mana 4/5?
I think the best value will be a 4 mana 4/5 or 6 mana 6/7 with "under"load (2).
Well if it hits 1 totem that stayed over from previous turn it is fine... but I'm not sure how consistently can you make this big...
