I can see some cool synergy by killing echo cards later in the game and re-playing them. You could even proc a sneaky otk
I greatly appreciate Dungeon Run concepts being brought into constructed. (Referring to the two Treasures that add minions to your Dungeon Deck.)
This card is as good as Hammer of Wrath -___-
I think this card goes very well with Chameleos, you get to scout their hand with Chameleos and decide what powerful combo you want to perform. Then with Holy Water you can pick and choose the cards you need and it's really hard for them to play around it since you steal their card if they play it and if they keep it in hand you'll land on it with Chameleos eventually. Making it much easier to piece together multi card combinations.
Now that's more priest's flavour. Instead of stealing random cards, you gather info and selectively steal. More the ideal thematicism of Mind Vision, although the card itself failed to come through on it.
My autocorrect doesn't accept "thematicism" LUL
It's 2 cards in 1, so it's essentially carddraw as well. Making it better than either of the 2 cards separately.
Same reason Shield Block is much better than Iron Hide + Novice Engineer even though you miss out on the 1/1
Fair point, though I suspect this effect is better than draw a card at least in a control priest list. Getting to choose any card you want for the matchup is very powerful in a control list. I like to think of it as Entomb with obviously worse board control options but for 1 mana cheaper and you draw a card.
What do you mean it's clearly superior to Entomb vs aggro, and Entomb was considered great! Besides this should go in a control lost with a lot of aoe already so just using it as damage reduction, forcing them to overcommit while not taking too much damage.
It ain't great vs tempo but it's still better than Entomb, which was a priest staple, and this card is almost as good vs control.
So this is actually pálinka right? If so, can't wait to play it.
Waaay too overhyped. 4-damage for 5-mana is a pretty bad play tempo wise and even considering the fact that it can generate a card, most of the time you're just getting mediocre ressources. LIke, obviously getting a LIch KIng or Ysera would be neat, but how do you get those to 4 health exactly? Priest doesn't have health manipulation like other classes and also lacks good single target damage for the most part.
The best scenario would be trading with minions to set it up, but which minion-focussed Priest deck could actually afford running this? Certainly not Spiteful, and Combo Priest doesn't really care about getting a random minion of yours. If WANTED! is a supposedly a bad card, then so is this, because unlike Rogue, Priest has no effective spell cheating (Radiant Elemental wouldn't even survive long enough for it to matter)
Yeah, those people don't realize Drakonid Operative is coming through to wild!
It seems like the right comparison for Holy Water is Entomb - both are removal tools which give you one of your opponent's minions. Holy Water gets played a little earlier and means you don't have to draw the minion later in the game (which may be very positive). Entomb, on the other hand, is an unquestionably better removal tool - the 1 mana increase to cost is nothing since it ignores deathrattles and removes any minion.
Because this is ultimately a removal tool first, and a minion generation tool second, it mostly looks like this is much worse than Entomb. But I don't think we should consider that as guaranteed. Many of the rush minions we've seen so far are pretty vulnerable to this spell, and putting a rush minion straight into your hand could be very powerful.
I really see this as one of the best cards (in terms of design) in the game.
Please note that you can target your own minions ! So much possible plays !
How good would this card be if it read deal 4 damage draw a minion? You could try to target good minions like Lord Godfrey and Tarim of course but most of the time you don't have the luxury to wait. Cycling a card is generally worth 1 mana so this is 4 mana deal 4 damage which is pretty bad unless you hit something really good.
i like it! but i doubt itll see play
Seems.. ok? does nothing against Cobalt Scalebane, the most common 5 drop.
when was the last time you saw Cobalt Scalebane ?
I have not seen it anywhere really since bonemare nerf
Mate, you serious? It's played like... in every Dragon Priest variation atm, since Combo Dragon Priest is considered a T1 deck and other Dragon Priest decks are solid T2 decks that work fine on the ladder.
@Urungulu
Combo Dragon Priest & Control Dragon Priest both don't play Cobalt Scalebane. It's not a control card, and combo prefers the higher-health Twilight Drake and Book Wyrm. The only Dragon Priest variant that plays Cobalts these days is Spiteful priest, and that deck's losing popularity (especially at legend and at the treshold to legend).
Scalebane was super popular when it was played in Tempo Rogue, but that deck's gone. Zoo doesn't play it anymore. It's a good card, it still sees play, but it's not the omnipresent 5-drop it once was.
No. Cobalt Scalebane is NOT played in "every Dragon Priest variation atm".
It's only played in 1 out of 5 current viable Priest decks (Spiteful Priest).
