Folks - remember one thing when evaluating cards; you can't compare class cards between different classes. Warriors are warriors - comparing an AOE 'spell' for a warrior against a mage AOE spell is apples to oranges. They are different archetypes. Drop all pretenses of "this is a shitty Flamestrike!!!' because it is not a fair comparison. You have to compare the tools that the class already has access to.
Warrior AOE is typically 1 damage dealt to ALL minions. It's an enrage (RIP) trigger or, if we want to keep talking AOE, a Sleep with the Fishes trigger. Oh, that last card is also rotating out. We also have Revenge which, situationally, might do 3 AOE for us. Also, any combo of the above and Execute works well but are better versed at taking care of a single threat. There's Reckless Flurry - a damn good AOE option if you have the cards to support it.
That pretty much leaves Warrior with Brawl which can be an amazing card in the right situation, but also has its drawbacks.
This makes Deadly Arsenal and Reckless Flurry about the only potentially reliable AOEs in Warrior's standard rotation bag of tricks. The latter is great for control types, but I think the former is going to be pretty damn huge in other archetypes. If you're willing to throw two Arcanite Reapers into your deck (and maybe you aren't - depends on if you're into that kind of stuff) - suddenly you have a very potent way to clear the board.
Finally an amazing card.
Big weapon control warrior?
6 mana for 4 damage aoe.
Pretty good. But too slow.
Oh, just realized that it's weapon's attack.
the least Bliizard could of done is make this Odd mana cost. Baku Control Warrior is gonna be pretty strong imo and this COULD of been something for an AOE, but luckily there will be Reckless Flurry and Brawl as Board Clears.
So when paired with Gorehowl, Deadly Arsenal is 7 damage to all minions for 6 mana.
Seems good.... but only if you can run 2x Gorehowl in your deck. Also we've got Arcanite Reaper, which is acceptable if you can spare six slots for weapons and this AoE... which is kinda a design flaw with Control Warrior, when compared to what Brawl can do.
Dunno on this one... it needs playtesting as it could be another Dr. Boom scenario where everyone says it's bad, and turns out to be really good (for the time), or maybe it just sucks and we haven't realized how bad the suck is.
.-.
during gadgetzhan: dragonfire potion is insane!!!
everyone now: ya, this card's meh, 6 mana deal 5 to all?
warriors running arcanite reapers is probably fine, and since dead man's man also exist i doubt there'll be a problem.
("powerful" even-cost combo^^)
Why run 2 gorehowl? we have dead mans hand that you can just pitch gorehowl back into the deck then play Arsenal.
So... its a joke? Cause otherwise this is just a really, really bad version of Dragon's Fury in a class that desperately needs good cards.
That art is from Pathfinder. This has to be a joke.
2 Gorehowl, 2 Arcanite Reaper meta?! lmao... Blizzard, get this back to the design table.
I thought this was an April's Fool card because the art doesn't fit Hearthstone at all.
Hobart Grapplehammer finally viable? (In Wild of course because he's rotating out)
The art in this seems really off for the expansion and for hearthstone in general. They need to stop picking cards from WoW TCG where the art makes no sense.
It feels like something you'd see in shadowverse, where the aesthetics and art direction is all over the place. Really dislike the card because of this.
I feel the same way. The art just doesn't have the WC feel to it. Every time I look at it I can't help but feel like something is out of place.
So, people are valuing this card in a way that is not quite right, by comparing it with Dragon's Fury. So, this card has nothing to do with Dragon's Fury, for 2 reasons, the first one, is that being a obvious fact, it does not use a spell ( making it worse), but at same time, it is better than Dragon's Fury, because it's in Warrior, and that's what make this and Dragon's Fury complete different spells.
Dragon's Fury Biggest problem is that sometimes, it would do nothing, but Warrior has a fantastic card named Dead Man's Hand meaning you can force specific weapons back into your deck, and this is where the card becomes better. Yeah you might not want to run this in a No Minion control deck, with double Dead Man's Hand , but in a deck that only uses a single copy of Dead Man's Hand or one that uses a lot of minions, it might be worth, since you can force specific values AoE for 8 Mana, what is kinda good.
Still Warrior does have Brawl but, there is a downside of it, a single minion has to survive, meaning some times, you want a clear, but you do not want to kill all you minions, and that's when this card shines. Keep in mind that, you would probably not play Brawl in a deck that utilizes a lot of minions for AoE clears for obvious reasons, but you could still run this one.
So take Deadly Arsenal as a alternative for Brawl and not as a bad AoE, since it's trying to do a different thing, and allow you to develop while clearing a thing that Brawl does not.
The Card by itself does not look good , but you need to look in what synergies the class itself has to offer, instead of, "oh it's bad because no one runs weapons with high attack anymore".
Those are good points; I personally had forgotten about Dead Man's hand tailoring what remains in the deck. Still, it will then be a very very slow aoe card. One I'd gladly discover, but not add to my deck to begin with.
You said everything about this card I was thinking. Totally agree with you. I am interested to see how this fits into the meta.
The problems I see with this card are countless:
Only 2 standard cards would be a good roll for Deadly Arsenal: Arcanite Reaper, in which case it's a better Dragonfire Potion. And Gorehowl, where it's 6 mana deal 7 to all enemy minions, which is insane. (In Wild, add Death's Bite and Ogre Warmaul for a 1 mana discount on Flamestrike) The problem arises in that unless more high attack weapons are added, this card's pool is far too slim to be reasonable.
You cannot run Blood Razor, or any other low attack weapons, unless you want to ruin any hope of consistency. Speaking of...
I forsee a major problem like that seen in Forge of Souls, where you will draw your weapons before you can use this card, turning it into a 6 mana do nothing. Arguably this is worse than Forge because Forge is card draw, while this is reactionary, This is a problem which Dragon's Fury doesn't really suffer from because there are a lot more big Mage spells than there are high attack Warrior weapons, and those individual cards are also much better and more impactful to the board state.
Finally, Brawl is a card, and it that flat-out destroys all minions except one.
All in all, this is a really bad card and would only fit into a really weapon-heavy Control Warrior as a one-of.
