The setting is all around Gilneas City (the forest at the southern part of it) , and the city has a harbour. So it still makes sense lore-wise to print the card.
They named her "Cursed Castaway" for a reason lul
Right? I can accept the totally reasonable story lines that Wow and hearthstone usually push. Orcs invade via an inter dimensional portal? Sure. An all powerful mage throws a fun bash that has dancing chess pieces? Of course.
But a pirate in a forest? #LiterallyUnplayable
One way to think of this card is a 6 cost 5 damage to a minion and draw a card. 5 damage is around 4 mana cost. Draw a card is worth about 1.5. So that's already fair value before you take into account the optionality this card gives you (albeit with some draw backs - can't damage minions if there are taunts in the way). Seems like a decent card.
Starfire is a bad card and is strictly better, cause let's face it, turn 6 and after you will never make a trade with a 5/3 that lets it live.
Oh, and - it's also a Deathrattle.
So turn 9 or 10 5/3 rush + 4/4 Edwin seems good to you ? Yes of course its a specific card draw but in terms of absolute value it represents the same mana value as a generic card draw. A specific card draw has also some disadvantages, and every one who has played a bit of kinsbane knows it, which is the perfect example with having a specific double card draw with Minstrel and double card draw with Oracle. Yes it's good to fetch for shinyfinders or weapon buff minions. But in a case where you need to defend, oracle is so much better cause you need to find Leeching or removal/board clears.
A real benefit would be a very few selective combo cards that could generate high value right away in combination, but no rogue deck that runs combo cards only runs 1 or 2.
Geee Blizz thanks for the shitty Reckless rocketeer that can't go face and most likely will never trade 2 for 1 while drawing yet another shitty random card, year of the raven my ass, more like year of the warlock and priest .. yet again.
This should be 5 mana at least, 4 mana would make it Tomb pillager good
Please stop comparing this to Starfire, you can't compare cards which belong to different classes.
Not sure If i wanna play this. Seems a little bit to expensive for me atm. Depends on what other cards they`ll reveal.
Rogue is normally a class which plays more cheaper combos in a turn. Maybe Blizzard is gonna be changing that in future. We will see.
Awesome one

This card is really just a Starfire, but better, because it can sometimes leave a 5/1 or 5/2 on the board, plus it tutors for a specific card type .
Yall are forgetting, it draws a specific card, not just a card. That is a huge advantage. Wonder why arcanologist is good? It draws a specific card.
starfire is also affected by spell damage
nope that is nonsense. arcanologist is a 2/3, thats why its good. if it was 2/3: "draw a card" it would be played in every single mage deck ever, forever.
drawing specific cards can be an advantage if your deck relies on some combo or strong syngergy, but usually just drawing a card is a more flexible effect. I also don't really know what sort of combo card you wanna draw in Rogue that badly, it will get you Minstrels, SI7s and Vilespines, all of which are good cards, but hardly worth playing a 6 mana 5 damage removal spell.
No it's because arcanologist is 2 mana 2/3 and draw
interesting late game trade and draw for miracle/miracoli. Making it a pirate could add to a new tempo build, but that might be a long shot
