Made for token handruid I presume.
People are poiniting out synergies and they do exist, but overall this card seems bad. Usually I fell like we the people undervalue cards that are "battlecry draw a card", and this is "battle cry: draw two cards"...but, those cards are SUPER low impact.
I do wonder if it'll see play in some sort of Combo Rogue though, as an additional possible synergy. Granted, Rogue was willing to run "bad" card generators like Razorpetal Lasher because they fueled Gadgetzan Auctioneer and not just Sherazin, Corpse Flower, but this does add a lot of fuel into any sort of Sherazin or Edwin Van Cleef engine. Of course, Rogue also has access to Elven Minstrel now, so ultimately probably not, but worth considering.
Good for Hagatha the Witch, good for handbuff pally, good for combo rogue, and damn good for Hunter quest.
This card will see play.
Oh look I found a 10 year old
Didn't see it mentioned yet, so here goes: Hagatha, the Witch. She needs minions in order to generate spells. This generates two very cheap minions. Seems like this card would be auto-include with everyone who chooses to utilize Hagatha. Edit: Great job on the video Alliestrazsa!
it also I assume could make the frogs when played in shaman, so you could get a spell producer with your spell production.
Wait..... "The Caw is coming from inside the house"?
That's so horrible. I love it.
Arena auto pick
I wish all reveals would be like this! She could've easily just been like "yeah, mediocre 3-drop... ...." but she dug deeper into possible competitive options, no matter how fringe for this card. Well played!
Same for Kripp. He's only popular because he's such a dreamboat.
You miss the point...
You might go on record as the most disliked user that has ever existed on this website. Every one of your comments has between 10-50 down votes. I think that should be a achievement in it self. *applause*
quest hunter
quest hunter
OH MY GAWD ITS THE CARD THAT QUEST HUNTER NEEDED!
Seriously tho sick arena card but probably not gonna see play in constructed.
On its face, Ravencaller is obviously awful. A vanilla 2/1 is a (weak) 1 mana minion, so you're paying 2 mana to add a couple of random 1 drops to your hand. Thought of another way, you're playing a weak 1 drop so you can spend 2 mana per minion to play random 1 drops. The only way that Ravencaller could possibly be worth it is if you're getting something more than those minions out of its battlecry. So where might it be useful?
Aggro decks: Aggro Paladin runs Call to Arms, which puts 3 low cost minions into play for 4 mana. This is neutral, so "5 mana get three low cost minions" sort of looks fair. On the other hand, Call to Arms thins your deck, and getting three cards from your deck is way better than three random weak minions. Maybe aggro/token Shaman wants this because they lack card draw, but I doubt it since it's so heavily outclassed by Aggro Paladin right now.
Quest Hunter: Two random 1 drops could be good in a deck that cares about 1 drops. The big problem with quest hunter is that you give up tempo on turn 1 to play the quest, and then are stuck fighting from behind with a bunch of weak minions to get a future reward that still doesn't swing the game for you. Maybe you can use this to generate 1 drops so you don't have to play that many 1 drops, making your deck more midrangey. But at that point, why are you playing the quest?
Hagatha Shaman: Probably the most interesting application of this card. Post-hero card, Ravencaller is effectively a Shaman version of Cabalist's Tome with some bodies attached. That's actually kind of appealing, but if there are decent, control-style echo minions (like Phantom Militia), you might prefer using them as a "one card spell generator" instead of this because they will have a wider set of applications than random (i.e. bad) 1 drops.
Hand Druid: It's kind of hard to believe that the token/giant Hand Druid archetype they're pushing will work, but if it does, I could see this being a part of it. That said, at the point that you're spending 2 mana on a random 1 drop, you might just prefer to use Witchwood Apple to get 2 mana 2/2's (probably better than a 2 costed random 1 drop). Obviously that has the downside of no immediate tempo, but a 2/1 is hardly a major tempo play, and getting three cards in hand plays a bit better with a "hand deck."
Ultimately, Ravencaller's best bet for uses are niche - maybe it will be the best of three cards you're offered in an arena pick, but it's going to need some very specific things to happen in the meta to see play in constructed.
Aren't you a dirty animal? She's a professional streamer and a pretty good player. Not first time presenting as well.
You're not a martyr for being a misogynist on the internet, you're just pathetic.
Y’all are being weak. Theres nothing wrong with this comment. Grow a pair
