Dean Ayala: No More Even & Odd Cards for Witchwood
Many players have been worried that there were going to be too many Even and Odd mechanic cards in the set and up until now, all we knew is that not every class would have them. Thanks to Dean for confirming to PC Gamer in an interview that everything we've seen now is it.
Quote from Dean AyalaAre there more even and odd cards we haven't seen?
There's just the four that we revealed in the video plus the two legendaries. That's the totality. We're going to have a lot of Echo and Rush stuff too, which I think are interesting mechanics.
Here are all the currently revealed cards which make use of the mechanics, starting with the most recent.

More Stat Tracking Isn't Needed
In the same interview with PC Gamer, Dean talks about Stat Tracking in China and why he doesn't think the core game needs it.
Quote from Dean AyalaWe have very minimal stat tracking now. We have your level, what your highest arena key is, total wins… and the reason we have that is because we think it's the right amount. It's super high level stuff and there aren't menus of pages tracking how much damage you do on Tuesdays. I think a lot of players do want more data, but I don't think it's necessary for a large majority of the player base. We take the UI very seriously on Hearthstone, where if we can choose not to add another pane then we don't. One of our UI designers always used the phrase "death by a thousand cuts," where you keep adding one more thing…
Thank god no mathstone. Let's hope that next day we don't see a bunch of cards requiring you to build a deck with only prime-numbers.
Are you suggesting that figuring out if a number is even or odd is too complicated? And if it takes more than 0.5-1 second, then I have some bad news for you...
Isnt every good even/odd cost card somehow support for those decks? Also Stag and Moth arent even good cards so i rather get something playable to put there in.
Would have liked even/odd card for all classes thought.
No one says that only even-costs and odd-costs cards are coming:) so lets chill out
I can get my money back? I think I was in high weed mood when I first saw this mechanic and instantly bought 70 packs preorder. I think i'm dumb and for sure i really feel the need to sue blizzard-Activision for false advertisement
so can we refund the money we paid for the pre-purchase now or u took the money and changed the deal ?
Disappointed.
I was already excited about crafting both Baku and Genn just for theorycrafting, but if that is all, the Odd/Even mechanic is simply crap, with the exception of a couple of decks.
"Death by a thousand cuts", really? Come on, Blizzard. I guess at least the very active players such as all of us browsing a hearthstone forum would love to get more statistical insights. I mean, they are collecting the data anyway, why lock it away?
If they choose not to include it in-game (which they apparently wont), why not provide the data as .csv, .sql, .xls or whatever as a download in our battle.net account or on the webpage. As I know the community, somebody would write a nice little program to mine all this data, probably even better than Blizz would.
Just like a deck tracker, the community would find a way to leverage all the data and make good use of it.
Honestly I'm not surprised that Team 5 introduced an intresting deck building puzzle that could be really cool if properly supported and then just half-ass their way and only give extra support to 4 classes. This is Gadzetzan all over again with them giving a lot of Reno deck support for only 3 bloody classes.
My excitement for this expansion died down a little bit, I'm still looking forward to it (if only for the Worgen and Halloween theme), but I was definitely more invested when I thought ALL classes would end up getting extra support for the odd/even style decks, if only by getting 1 card each.
This makes no sense. They make the cards 2 cycles in advance. How the hell did the community influence something they didn't even know would exist?
okey now community can please;
Shut the fuck up ?
No way this even/odd mechanic will be played a lot. Too many restrictions for such doubtful bonuses. But this can be a really interesting mechanic if there still were minions with Inspire.
Oh, there are my friend...in wild :) come to the dark side!!!
Dude, I think I'm too used for the Standard meta. Too many cards in Wild to keep in mind while playing. But if some even/odd decks would turn out to be viable in Wild and no even/odd decks will be present in Standard, I may try it =)
What an utterly dumb reasoning to not include class breakdown for wins or similar things.
What are you talking about, adding another line to the menu is surely gonna confuse new players. We already have whole two lines there: "Settings" and "Exit", how do you think people will be able to use the game when there will be three?
