Has Alanna and Big Spell Mage doesn't have spiteful's in it... Not sure what you're playing... 

I clicked hoping Hearthpwn was diversifying nope it's StanCifka again.

"Aaaand surprise ... there's a rank 1 ..." - Best video intro I've seen for a long time!

To deck structure. I play Control Mage hell of a lot myself and it got me to Legend as well (not rank 1 though) so here is my little contribution.

- Baron Geddon is not a substitution for Alexstrasza, I would still include her.
-Skulking Geist is a tech against Combo Priest as well, not only against extinct Jade Druid, keep that in mind and smash it in if you faced a bunch of priests in last games.
- I would use Plated Beetle over Medivh's Valet, but its matter of taste (Valet being better against murlocs though)
- Dirty Rat is meh in the world without Raza Priest, at least for me. I prefer Tar Creeper

However, give it a try, it is fun and skilltesting deck and also viable in this meta, which is rare combination!

Laughable when people on Hearthpwn say a deck is no good...yet someone hit rank 1 with it.......it's like....riiiiiight ok.

That's not a deck for climbing in ranks 10-15, haha.

I watched Stancifka playing it on Legend 100+ rank, it took him a lot of time to get Legendary Rank 1. 

This deck is good for High Legend ranks, it does not allow any mistake and is based a bit on RNG (ie.Cabalist  Tome, Dragon's Fury) . 

There are games where you would insta loose, like with any other decks but it can handle most of the common meta decks at the moment.

Where's MY deck spotlight?

Fun-looking deck tho. Wish I could afford it.

In meta rich with dude Paladins and midrange Priests, so as aggro Mages,
this deck just does not have proper answers to it's most common foes:
- bubbled dudes are worst disaster for Mage, so as Pally replenishes hand with Divine favor and floods the bord again on any clear
- Priests are putting big HP threads, worst matchup is simplest to pilot matchup Spiteful priest will crush this mage
- to beat the aggro Mage you need exactly: Coin, Doomsayers, Valets, both Arcate Artificers, then Jaina T9. Still it will take eternity for you to actually kill aggro Mage, you will have to swallow all the face damage he has.

This deck really good vs Warlock if it is not Cube with a good hand. Not to mention a random Jade Druid can fck up all the fun.

I wouldn't craft this deck now, will see what expansion brings.

P.S.: the only meta profit in this deck - opponents will muligan vs aggro Mage for the case. That's how you are getting your wins.

Also rinlock can ez eat you.

But anyway using a similar deck (no geddon, plus piros and alex)take me to rank 8 from 16, but then I switch to spiefull priest and to cubelock to reach legend

Oh, I beg to differ - at least to some extent.

Warlock is a difficult matchup, but certainly beatable. Aggro Paladin, from my experience, is a somewhat easy win most of the times. I do agree that Big Priest really is a problem ... if he gets lucky, that is.

Not that we need more OP Warlock mechanics, (as they're the ones who suicide/sacrifice life and cards most often) but that'd be neat. Having cards where alternative casting costs in cards could be an option. But that's the kind of advanced hand manipulation that Hearthstone has skipped over for the mostpart.

Wonder if Baron Geddon is that crucial or is it really that bad to add another 3 cost spell (Volcanic Potion)

It kinda is. His effect triggers lifesteal from Jaina.

I know that, just haven't watched the video and wondered how much is life gain relevant when you have Arcane Artificier to gain armor... Crafted most of the classic Legendaries at one point or another and never got around to crafting him.
