Blizzard Cancels the Year of the Raven Livestream Due to Ranked Play Issues
RANKED PLAY HAS RETURNED! Check out the update Blizzard posted in this post.
Due to ongoing issues with the ranked ladder, Blizzard has cancelled tomorrow's Year of the Raven Q&A Stream. There is no note of a rescheduled date at this time. We've been updating our original post with updates as they come out here.
To see the Year of the Raven announcement, check it out here.
Quote from Jesse HillGreetings,
Currently, the Hearthstone team’s primary focus is working to resolve the issues with Ranked Play as soon as possible. You can view the updates on this issue here.
To focus on these issues, we will be cancelling the Year of the Raven developer livestream that was originally scheduled to take place on Friday, March 2. Your questions are very important to the team, and we would still like the chance to address them. If you have any additional questions you would like answered, please still definitely send them our way. You can do so by posting on the Year of the Raven announcement blog found here.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to speaking more with our community soon.
We have implemented a hotfix which should resolve the issues we were seeing with Ranked Play. With this fix in place, we are now working on addressing the accounts of players affected. Once that is completed, we will be able to bring Ranked Play back online.
We will continue to provide updates until Ranked Play is back up. [Source]
They have this stream ready and scheduled to do the announcement 10 days ago. Still nothing happens.
that stream was not going to be the announcement, only Q&A about the year of the raven
if anything that was gonna be an announcement about the announcement
also the announcement is coming really soon I bet, maybe this week, maybe next
Blizzard can't do anything right. Blizzard is aware of this issue.
Please tell me this is a reschedule and not a true cancelling? :(
I know this is a little late, but they could at least reschedule the Year of the Raven instead of canceling it...
According to Blizzard, the fixes are in. Are they that unexcited about Raven that they're really not going to reschedule?
how long until this goes on ?? :'(
ik this is a bit late but this is what i want to see. theres issues so instead of going with the plan, they alter the plan to FIX said issues. 99% of game devs have done this in the past including blizzard where they ignore problems to push new content. everyone please take a second to appreciate this
They could AT LEAST announce the new announcement date ResidentSleeper when is it??
we are waiting for! when?
This really sucks. The current meta is so stale that I was really looking forward to new cards. I would have gladly not played ranked for a week if it meant we could see new cards.
Where is the current Meta stale? There are 19 decks within 45 and 57% winrate. I doubt you will get way more in any Standard ever. And even the super hyped Cubelock is below 10% playrate
Oh yeah, there's a lot of viable decks. But 95% of my games are against : aggro paladin, secret mage, control warlock, and dragon priest. So the aggro paladin can be murloc or dudes, and dragon priest have quite a few variants, but it feels all the same (oh my board got duskbreakered, wow drakonid on turn 5, unexpected...).
This is clearly not the worst meta I've seen, but since I started playing every meta got to a point like that where you face only 3-4 classes, and the other 5 are one game of out 100. It's just boring that people can only play these four classes (almost 4 decks) 95% of the time.
Actually all the decks you listed in all iterations make up 54.96% of the meta and not 95%. That's just your brain tricking you because you dislike them.
Sure they are the 4 most played classes but it's far from the numbers you imagine
i like the current meta, each deck counters the other one, it all boils down to skill.
Well if they are only 50%, it would mean you encounter as much priest/pala/warlock/mage as you encounter shaman/warrior/rogue/druide/hunter ? That seems so wrong.
Out of my 60 games today, I faced one control paladin, one shaman, two jade druids, two miracle rogues, five hunters, and zero warrior.
So 49 out of 60 games were against secret mage / aggro paladin / control warlock / dragon priest. So ok it's not 95%, but it's far from 50%. Maybe your numbers take rank 25 to rank 15, and all the fun decks you can find at ranks 15/10 when people can't go more down anyway, but it's clearly not what I'm facing rank 3 to 1.
@Blewie yeah, either you play paladin and win against everything expect warlock, or you play warlock to shit on paladin but then you get shit on by mage, and if you play mage you loose to paladin. It's way more match-up dependant than skill dependant. Ofc skill is important but if you go into this rock-paper-cissors game with everyone else, your match is often already won when you see your opponent class. For instance I was playing hunter today, and unless I got barnes/y'shaarj on 4 I lose like 80% of the time against control warlock.
How is it relevant ? I'm saying that "I" am facing almost only these decks. If other players don't, good for them.
Plus just giving the number like that, 7 millions, has absolutely no value if you don't say at what ranks these games are played (because ofc you won't see only paladin mage and warlock at rank 15 to 25) and since when (if this is the data of the last 2 weeks for example, this is kinda irrelevant for dudeladin was not played at all back then, and it quite changed the meta).
Sadly you have to pay for ranked based data on HSReplay, but the majority of games(~41%) is logged from rank 1-5. Legend is ~20%, rank 6-10 is ~21% and 16-25 is the rest.
HS data are usually from within the last 7 days and are updated every few minutes, so they are rarely outdated by meta changes. VS has better ranked based data, but they are a bit older (last data Reaper report is from 2018-03-01).
Highest playrate for aggro pala decks is between rank 1 and 5 with 22.03% of the meta playing Pala aggro. Lowest is in ranks 11-15 with 12.96% pala aggro.
if each deck counters the other we got a classical paper scissors stone case. Therefore it has nothing to do with skill, but matchmaking luck :):):):)
