Year of the Mammoth Bundle Ends March 11
If you, like thousands of other players, were wondering when the Year of the Mammoth pack bundle was ending, we've finally got an answer. Thanks to a tweet from the Hearthstone twitter account this afternoon (and apparently shop page), it looks like the fun comes to an end on March 11.
Quote from @PlayHearthstoneThe Year of the Mammoth Bundle is now available on the Blizzard Shop! For a limited time get 30 packs for 50% off http://blizz.ly/MammothBundle (Source)
Yup, March 11th (Source)
What'd You Get?
A little late to the party here but here's my haul.
Are You Still Playing Hearthstone?
We've got a few questions for all Hearthstone players, whether you're playing the game still or not.
I got Kingsbane , Geosculptor Yip and Open the Waygate
... and I got 3x 10 packs closer to my pity timer, on 3 different sets #neverlucky
So much luckier than you, I got the dreaded rogue quest: The legendary I hate the most in the whole game...
But ok 3000 dust plus the disenchanted quest is going to give me 2 good legendaries...
10 € a chosen legendary, good deal or not? Depend how much you value 10€... If i did get 5 of my choice for each expansion starter package, I would be more than happy
Kingsbane?from bundle? sorry but bundle have no K&C pack
I got the rogue deathknight, but more importantly got 3 corridor creepers on top of the 2 I already had. 1 of which was golden, now i´ve got enough dust for next expansion.
The expansion poll was a hard one for me. I’ve honestly loved the Death Knights and Quests that the first two expansions provided, but the combination of Legendary weapons and the dungeon runs has sold me on K&C being my favourite.
This whole year has been amazing in comparison to previous years and I’ve felt more free with my favourite class (rogue) than I ever have before. I can play mill, pirate aggro, tempo, oil, miracle, jade, deathrattle, malygos otk, thief, weapon buff and big rogue all at a somewhat competitive level. Wild has become more and more appealing and I feel like I always have a deck I want to goof around with instead of feeling like I can’t be creative and still win.
Is the added price tag a bummer? Sure. But I would much rather drop an extra $50 each year on this game while spending an entire expansion satisfied than be back in the adventure days where I got bored of the lack of new synergy two months in.
Is it a rule that one legendary comes for every ten packs? I just got a legendary from among the 30 packs, I would like to know if it is normal
You are only guaranteed to get one from the first ten packs of a given expansion, then it's an average of 1 every 20 packs with at least one every 40 packs (pity timer).
Frozen Throne is/was the best hearthstone expansion of all time... Not sure if it was the best meta, but the best pack and coolest mechanics
Got 1 legendary (lynessa) but it was practically at the pity timer. Only 4 epics (the best of which was probably Astral tiger :/) 2 golden Rares and 2 golden commons. So not the absolute low roll, but pretty damn close. Also not even any bonemare to up the meager dust haul
Agreed: the games I played most besides Hearthstone in the last year are Stellaris and Opus Magnum, which don't fall in any of the mentioned categories.
Second poll question needs "I don't know" or "Not sure yet."
Third poll question needs to be checkboxes instead of radio buttons.
I got a Golden Swamp King Dred and a Normal Professor Putricide. Swamp King might be getting dusted forDragoncaller Alanna .
I'm gonna be honest, the bundle sucks. The Welcome Bundle was cheaper then this, and got you a guaranteed legendary. This is 30 packs for $20, and you're not even guaranteed a legendary. Just save that $20 and use it on this year's Adventure.
20 dollars for 30 packs is a better deal than 50 dollars for 50 packs.
Obviously the welcome bundle is a better deal, thats the whole point of it. Pretty much every FTP game ever made has a super value deal for starters, that's how they get you to be willing to spend money in the first place.
How on earth do you not know that adventures are free now?
Also, if you are new to the game, you ARE guaranteed one Legendary from each set if you've never opened a pack from that expansion.
If you're not new to the game, the comparison isn't valid in the first place.
How do you know they are going back to that? do you have evidence to back you up?
Seeing as though absolutely nothing has been revealed of the coming Hearthstone year, I don’t know how you could possibly know this. It was not specified in the release of the Year of the Mammoth that it was temporary. There was also nothing saying it was for sure permanent either. But judging by the improved impact on the meta by having an extra expansion over an adventure it’s much more likely for them to continue with the same format.
If you do have some sort of proof of this claim, please post it.
Can it only be bought once?
