The Wonderful Blizzard World - Hearthstone Gets Featured in the Latest Overwatch Map
Overwatch received a new update earlier today which included a brand new map in the rotation which was debuted at BlizzCon last year, Blizzard World. The map is what the Overwatch Team thinks of when they consider what a Blizzard theme park would look like. All of Blizzard's franchises are present on the map and for any Blizzard fan, it's truly epic.
Since we're more about Hearthstone than anything else, we're just going to be showcasing much of the Hearthstone features within the map, though some are also shared with the Warcraft universe. So, what does Hearthstone have in Blizzard World?
- The Hearthstone Tavern - This is where the attackers spawn and there are plenty of objects to mess around with.
- Snaxxramas - A food shop equipped with some very interesting looking meaty legs. Whatup Curse of Naxxramas!
- DEATH WINGS - NEW! These chicken pieces will set your mouth alight.
- The Hellscream - Garrosh's rollercoaster. Can you survive?
- Khadgar's Herbs - Not accessible, but maybe that's a good thing?
- Statues - Alleria Windrunner and Khadgar have their own statues near the Hearthstone Tavern.
- Hearthstone Boards - Objects you can flip and see fireworks w/ victory sound effects.
- Blackrock Mountain - A roller coaster seen on a poster within the Hearthstone Tavern.
Ultimately, the map is amazing and if you have Overwatch you should definitely login to check it out. If you get near the hearth within the tavern you can hear some very familiar music. There's also a treasure chest near the hearth which spits out coins if you attack it.
SNAXX OUT!
To celebrate the new Overwatch map, Blizzard World, which features plenty of Hearthstone goodness, we've decided to host a special card design competition to let your creative juices flow. This is outside of our normal card design competition so look forward to another one of those later this week. If you're interested in entering, our criteria for cards is quite simple!
- Your card must be a minion, spell or weapon
- Your card must represent or allude to a character from another Blizzard IP besides Hearthstone and World of Warcraft
You can enter the competition by reading the rules and responding to our SNAXX OUT Submission thread. If you want to discuss entries from competitors, we've got a dedicated discussion thread. GOOD LUCK, HEROES!
Overwatch Questions
While we're on the subject of Overwatch, we'd love to ask you a few questions about the game.
So beautiful <3
"If you stopped playing what caused you to stop?" need another option: "My computer can't run it"
Must resist they urge to play OverWatch just to walk into those lore.
Thanks for the guided tour - you saved me from myself
Ahh Overwatch...the one game where I can make a German 50 year old in a giant suit made to look like armor and a flying bird lady fight each other (and don't forget about the lady with the magical hands!)
Favorite touch has to be the Lost Viking's Lost and Found. lol
I just wish it was a real place! When I was at Blizzcon 2017 I was so excited because I thought it was a real place but hey a new map is fun too lol.
I can easily say that OW dev team is the best of all Blizzard dev teams. They actually care about their players, they give us all that we ask for. So much love for them <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
True . I dont feel cheated when playing overwatch unlike hs.
I wonder if Blizzard realizes just how much money they could make if they turned this into a real theme park...
Blizzard World looks awesome! I don't play Overwatch, but I will definitely check out the map on the next free weekend.
The closest Hearthstone will get to being a competitive game OmegaLUL
So, the adventures shown are all from Wild Mode, which means if a new player wants to play them will have to pay with real money and the statues shown are from two heroes which cost real money to obtain. I see a pattern here.
I would really love to see Hearthstone expansions themed off of another Blizz property. As in a Diablo or Overwatch set, not a single Blizzard set.
Nothing special
Overwatch gets huge constant game updates, new characters, new maps, new events.
Meanwhile in hearthstone we have to wait months for the devs to change a single integer in a card. Feelsbadman.
Bugfixes aside OW updates are just as slow if not slower than HS. A healer has been must pick OP for over 120 days now since Blizzard 'reworked' her. Imagine having to play the original Undertaker meta for that long, or the small-time buccaneer pirate meta if you're a newer player.
Well it's not like Mercy is an actual must pick, and the changes to her character have happened in stages since her most problematic iteration (mass resurrect). Also, I'm more impressed with Overwatch content updates as 1. the engine and visuals involved are much more complicated and spectacular 2. the updates are substantive yet accessible (i.e. little paid content) 3. updates are frequent and address any staleness in the game 4. they LISTEN to the community for suggestions (custom games, infinite ultimate abilities in custom games, fixing Hanzo's casual skin).
If it was Hearthstone, Hanzo's first iteration casual skin would remain in the game as it is until the next Standard Year, whereupon it would be moved to HoF and a new one would be released as a limited edition...
i stoped to play cause after some windows updates the game runs terrible
EDIT, and loot boxxes are ok in this game, are just visual changes nothing pay to win, i really dont know why people crys about that, if you want pay for it ok its your problem, but beeing just skins and animations i think is 1 of the cleanest loot box contents out there
