Agree. I play Overwatch every now and then, only in casual.

I have never opened a single loot box. I have about 90 unopened boxes waiting.

First Blizzard game never brought to the Mac so don’t play Overwatch. FeelsMacMan

I use bootcamp to run it on mine :p although I'm not sure how any Mac will handle it.

The blessing and the curse of Overwatch is that it really requires a lot of teamplay and coordination for you and your team to be successful. You need to have a team composition that works well together and you need to be able to adjust it in order to counter the opposing team's hero picks - not to mention the communication during the game. Unfortunately this isn't that easy concept to grasp and it's way over the head for many of our fellow Internet gamers. When you see people instapicking 4 dps characters you basically know the game is lost from the start. Yet the game forces you to suffer through all the pain because you get penalized for leaving early. Of course this doesn't happen every game (thank God!) and I'm exaggerating here a bit just to bring my point through. Also I'm usually the lonely healer in these games which makes it twice as bad. That's the biggest complaint for me anyway. I basically like the game itself but I often find myself quitting from sheer frustration after playing some rounds of competitive.

Do you have a complaint with Overwatch's gameplay? I can understand if you do - to each their own and all that - but I hope there's more behind your decision to bail beyond the loot boxes.

• Devs focus more on cosmetics then the actual game
• Devs put more focus into the limited time Seasonal Events then they do the actual game
• Timelocking gamemodes
• Timelocking non-event cosmetics (Uprising and Anniversary were just cash grabs, blatant cash grabs.)
• Actual content updates are painfully slow. In 2017 there were three new heroes and three new maps. That was it. (Arcade maps don't count.)
• Actual balance changes and bug fixes are too far and few inbetween, and the balance updates that do come either make a hero OP as shit, or destroy them. If a buff or nerf was bad, they refuse to revert because of their arrogance
• Blizzard doesn't even know what their heroes roles are anymore. Remember back when D.Va actually was a tank who didn't need a pocket, and wasn't a glass cannon that was a more effective DPS then the actual DPSs?
• It's been years since beta, and there still is no group finder or clan system. Heroes of the Storm had this shit since Alpha, yet ActiBlizzard's new IP is missing basic functions like this.
• There is no dedicated solo queue for Comp, something that HotS actually does have.
• I don't think I need to explain the pure toxicity of OW
• Every hero is just a bland walking stereotype, who was designed purely for people who can't aim with crutch abilities for them to fall back on.
• Instead of making new content for the rest of the regular players, ActiBlizzard's top priority was Overwatch League, something the majority of the playerbase didn't give two shits about. For fucks sake, there was a dedicated Developer Update about OWL. They're more focused on making the game fun to watch, then fun to play.
• Speaking of OWL, that in itself is a fucking joke. They want $20 million to make ONE team, and all they're trying to make it like the NFL. OWL is just a swamp of controversy, as we see shit like the Shanghai Dragons in poor player conditions being forced to play the game 15 hours a day, making them mentally exhausted on camera, and then there's extremely toxic players like xQc. And then we have the fact they're charging $5 for the OWL skins, which are just fucking recolors of the default skins. They're hot even good looking recolors, and they are charginf $100 just to get a full team's set!
• The community wants permanent PvE, yet PvE is timelocked to just events. There's no reason for Uprising to be exclusive to just the April event. NONE.
• To this day, the only event gamemode that actually has been made permanent was CTF, and it was also mired in controversy as eveyr match just ends in a draw. Meanwhile modes that people do like, such as Lucioball, are tied to just events!

And I can just go on and on and on about how the format of combat just isn't fun. It feels less like a team based arena shooter and more like a first person MOBA. Let me make it perfectly clear, Overwatch just doesn't work as a competitive game or a fun party game. It's bland and lacks substance, with new content few and far between. It's just a massive loot box casino, which is one of the reasons it got popular in the first place. There's a reason many people call it "Overmeme," or "Overtrash," or "Overrated." It's mired in bad game design, but gets away with it because it's Blizzard, and they can do no harm right?
