Hearthstone Update for February Contains New Events, Possible Balance Changes
A new patch has been confirmed for next month which at the very least will contain some new "cool" events Ben Brode has confirmed earlier today via Twitter.
- If the team decides to make balance changes, that is the earliest any will happen.
- We wonder if this will include the arena-only cards for future usage.
Is there anything specific you'd like to see changed in a possible balance update?
Quote from Ben BrodeBeen reading discussions about balance; we have an update coming next month which includes some cool events, and that is when any balance changes would happen. We'll be sure to announce any changes as the patch gets closer. See you at the HCT World Championship next week!
youre obviously an aggro player salty that control is somehow better. If the meta was 9 aggro decks trying to beat eachother youd probably be happy. Because in your logic theres no bs plays. You name like 5 control finishers (that actually make for fun matchups) when theres turn 1 plays way more influential
Please explain to me why he is obviously an aggro player? He also said he hates Corridor Creepers which are included in every aggro deck. To me it's not obvious at all, but maybe I'm missing something...
I like midrange decks. Sadly, there is only 1 midrange deck ATM (big spells priest) and it's really not my deck. Anyway I don't see all those turn 1 OP play, maybe because they don't exist (tunnel trogg is wild). I named 2 "control finishers", I hope you're not really thinking that Psychic Scream or Voidlord are finishers.
I just want you to know that I'd sign under your every word.
No, he's right.
i play HS since open beta and I NEVER felt so unmotivated to even run the game.
It is not about Control VS Aggro this time. It is about little versitilaty and interaction.
BOTH Raza priest and Cubelock are capable of duing huge burst damage while alse having the best anti-aggro tools. You either play those, or Tempo Rogue to pray upon hyper-aggro with Backstab, SI:7, Vilespine
Wanna try cool value deck? (Frost Jaina, N'zoth Warrior, Control Pally, etc...) Jade will out.value you, aggro will kill you, unless you pack in ton of removál, in which case you can't pressure neither Pries, Warlock or Jade hard enough. So you lose against half of the meta.
Trying to beat BOTH priest and warlock. Too bad! You can't defend against bunch of 5/7's AND Anduin at once, So pick your poison.
And btw, every 3rd or 4th game against rouge you will almost auto-lose couse Keleseth.
Great design, indeed. Fun and Interactive TM
You still concede against Keleseth? WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK. Also, I think I should just point out, 'cause it's been going on for AT LEAST a year now, the bitching on this particular comment feed is literally the exact same bitching that everyone has been doing pretty much since Mean Streets came out! Seriously, guys! When are you going to understand that THIS GAME WILL NEVER BE "FAIR"! And how, after 4 years, are people still misspelling "Rogue"?! "Rouge" (notice the reversal of the "o" and the "u") is literally the French word for the color red (and no, it was a color before it was makeup)! Get it through your heads, people! I'm so sick of seeing these! As are ALL the designers, I'm sure.
Only card that should get removed is imo patches, Creeper is just played in every deck because patches is played in any deck.
corridor creeper
explosive runes(3 mana 6 damage)
Yeah... get that creeper out of my corridor
Ha ha ha, good one! :)
The game has indeed hit a few rough patches and people are feeling jaded.
Worst. Puns. Ever.
-Bonemare is mid/late game minion that provides tempo and value
-Prince Keleseth is a high-roll card, restricts your deck building and doesn't have much impact if came late in the game (tho I don't like high-roll cards, still ok)
-Corridor Creeper can easily be 0 or 1 mana 5/5 body on turn 3, this is too much, completely snowball the game because it fights for bord really hard against tempo decks and demands a quick answer from slow decks (which is not easy). Besides, there's is Patches the Pirate to make Creeper even better
And you cant interpret ...I guess
Exactly! :-) That was the point. :))
Well, we all know what will get nerfed: Shield Slam and Lightning Storm because balance.
Why is it always about nerf? Why dont just make unplayable cards better? Why dont make Moorabi like 5-6, and Frost Elemental 6-6 to give freeze shaman some hope to be good? No one use earth/frost shocks for like a years, why not make it deal 2 damage? Lotus Agents could be 4-4 or even 5-4 coz it has really unreliable effect so its just for fun card. Kabal Courier also pays with 3 stats, yeah, but it much cheaper and it good only in 1-copy decks or with some other synergies, which non-Kazacus classes usually dont have.
Why cant they make Explosive Shot make more damage or cost less to be played not only in some spell-only-decks? Why dont give Forlorn Stalker at least good statline or double effect coz its much worse then paladin's one and still has 2hp for 3 mana
I mean, they look balanced if you just compare it with the other cards, consider effects, stats and shit, but that balance line in HS was shifted long time ago. Now you can use only OP or flexible cards. They really should reconsider all cards and make a lot of strengthening on it
There's an optimistic and pessimistic answer to this.
Optimistically, as highlighted by Kibler in the most recent Omnistone show, nerfing something gives more room for previously bad cards to step up and fill the void. Where as buffing a card just sees one new-old card see play.
Pessimistically, why make cards you already bought better when they can just make a new card that you'll have to buy.
The Pirate Captain is balanced
Balance is when a majority (>4/9) of classes have a meta deck with ~50% win rate?
Asking for a friend
Maybe they will nerf a bunch of cards? Maybe they have to make many changes and need the time to test them out.
