What's on Your Hearthstone Wishlist for 2018?
Last year, Iksar tweeted asking everyone what they wanted to see for 2017 and we posted about it to see what you wanted to see in 2017. so let's do it again!
HearthPwnians, what stuff do you want to see from the game next year?
Flux's Wishes for Hearthstone 2018
Having a two-line news post felt like a terrible way to get the discussion going, so here's what I want to see.
A New Druid Hero
It feels so wrong that we only saw three new heroes during 2017. After Prince Arthas came out with Knights of the Frozen Throne, and although the flavor was great for the expansion, we still were left with 2 classes that were still missing an alternate hero. Fast forward to October, just over two months later, Warlocks finally received a new hero in the form of the adorable gnome, Nemsy Necrofizzle.
Druid is now the odd one out and we've got no idea when we're going to see an additional face for the class. Hopefully, the method of acquiring the new Druid hero won't leave us kicked to the curb like Nemsy did with broken Fireside Gatherings and requiring us to be social / grab a GPS spoofer.
I'm not even going to bring up the topic of each class not having an easily accessible alternative hero, that's for another day.
More Cosmetics
Let players show off more! It would be great to see a mix of obtainable in-game cosmetic items and those that could come from a shop.
- There's definitely more room for new card backs coming out of various criteria.
- Let us obtain flair for our names. This could be displayed beside/under our name.
- Flair could provide a slot to showcase a statistic (like lifetime brawl wins, lifetime 12 arena win runs, highest legend rank).
- Flair could also just be a fancy badge that showcases something you achieved or purchased.
- More fancy board elements for heroes. Why stop at 500 wins, the counter doesn't!
Some ideas for cool things they could add:
- A card back to the shop that costs 10,000 gold. The entire point of it is to showcase your wealth. Level it up by spending another 10k gold.
- Something unique for getting all nine heroes to 500 wins. You're already tracking this, make up a card back!
- Reward players with a card back who have obtained Legend multiple times. The Golden Legend Cardback!
- Golden hero borders that could evolve to be hit with more sparkle. Adorn them with class-specific flair like a frost effect for Mages which gets better the more wins with the class you have.
- Name flair for all the basic stats available - total wins, total arena wins, and others that are certainly available internally.
- Name flair from the shop that could let you better represent your favourite <x>. A flashy Hunter trap, a cute little Murky face.
- Think of it as if they were a traditional avatar - they could even show up on your friends list!
- Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft II, and StarCraft Remastered all have avatars. Even Diablo III does if you consider Avatar Borders. EVEN DIABLO THREE!
- Interactables that could be on your side of the gameboard - extra stuff to play with! Buy 'em in the shop and have some rewarded for completing cool
achievementsquests.
This is just a small piece of the overall cosmetic puzzle; The important thing here is to help bring more uniqueness to the game. There are certainly better ideas out there that I am certain we'll see in the comments below.
Additional Unique Tavern Brawls
Back in September, I touched upon Tavern Brawls being too repetitive. I personally feel that over half the brawls being repeats is not a great way to truly figure out the mode and ultimately leads to more negative vocal reactions here and elsewhere in the community. That negativity has without a doubt resulted in more players becoming jaded when it comes to the game as a whole which without a doubt cannot be good.
By having more new brawls added to the game, we can consistently enjoy new experiences with Hearthstone and will hopefully see less negative discussion about the Hearthstone team being "lazy". That negative public perception that is picked up across the web and in the faces of potential new players certainly isn't a good thing and is hopefully taken into consideration when they decide what to toss up next.
While we're at it, seeing more stats on brawls overall would be wonderful. The last time we saw brawl play-rates was back at BlizzCon 2015.
A Friendlier Community
There's a lot of negativity within all the hot places for Hearthstone discussion and although a lot of is without a doubt justified, we should all try and be more constructive with our comments.
- Personal attacks against game developers, pros, and even your fellow players are not getting us anywhere and is the area with the largest room for improvement.
- Saying a card, deck, or play is terrible/shit/cancer doesn't actually help anyone. Explain your process to encourage discussion and teach others.
- Quit the political and regional attacks. Stuff can't always come out at the same time everywhere and discussion of subtropical fruit doesn't contribute to gaming discussions.
These things not only apply to Hearthstone but to other games you play and communities you are a part of.
Win-Win for us, players... But LOSE LOSE LOSE $$$ for Blizzard. You can't expect them to make themselves lose money right?
But they ask for a wish... and it's time for miracles... :(
More deck slots. Yes, I know I can save deck ideas and port them, I have plenty of decks saved on here, but some days I like to be semi-lazy and not have to do 2 or 3 small additional steps to transfer my decks from fan sites over to the game.
at least one legendary card
I don't agree with your idea on adding gold but I would love to see more bosses in the mode and I hope they update it with new cards when the next expansion is released.
Just try and make the emotes sound less sarcastic!.
People would still allow the emotes to trigger them, just look at how so many people let the welcome emote upset them when the opponent does it outside of the first 5 seconds of the game.
more hero cards, preferably inspired by the alternative portraits (you know, when druid gets one).
replace regular arena with the dual class one we've had a while ago.
bring back hero cards to arena, but make it so you can ONLY pick it as your last card, and make it guaranteed; this way, if my first two points are implemented, you will always have 3 out of 4 hero cards to choose from at the end of the draft.
More buff cards, there's hardly any in this game.
Why isn't there a single 0 mana 5/5 in the game.
More expansions with 2 or 3 cards that are just auto include regardless of the deck or class people are playing.
Fewer deck archetypes and variation. Every expansion this year should really narrow down the play to 20 or 30 viable cards, too many cards is so confusing, who is ever able to figure out which one to netdeck.
Also, please give us faster games, my brain hurts trying to use these cards that take forever to play. I'm tired of just pressing that End Turn button for the first 4 or 5 turns while nobody does anything. Just give us cards we can spam on the board.
"Give us faster games"? "pressing that End Turn button for the first 4 or 5 turns while nobody does anything"? "JUST GIVE US CARDS WE CAN SPAM ON THE BOARD."? The meta right now is almost nothing but Patches the Pirate and Corridor Creeper and a win on turn 7.
whoosh
Number one wish for 2018: Rotate Patches and Keleseth to wild on january 1st. Or remove them from the game entirely.
Others:
- Achievements and new flair to show them off.
- New mode, ideally tournament or 2v2
No more rng.
1.First I would like if you could choose what legendary you get in the pack. Like maybe instead of opening a crap legendary and get 400 dust out of it if it’s not golden. Maybe we cand get a token that we can exchange with any legendary in the game, same for epics. Also the cost of a legendary should reduce from 1600 to 1200 because overtime(played since beta) I feel like I need to play tenfold to have the same things, good legendaries, good decks. Adventures helped more because you know what legendary you get and is a better deal than buying 20 packs and get a bad legendary.
2. Adventures
3. I would love if I could choose what pack I get from tavern brawl.
4. We should get the treatment China got with buying dust and get the pack as a reward. Overtime you can craft an epic/rare for free.
5. Blizzard should address op cards promptly and don’t wait for them to rotate. Ex: Patches.
6. Free hero for druid, warrior, mage, hunter.
7. A season for legend should last longer than a month. I always come close to hitting legend and feel like even if I hit legend, i wouldn’t have time to enjoy it. Sure the rewards at the end of each season could get adjusted for the period being longer.
8. More quest slots. I don’t play everyday but I like it when I play and quests overlap so I can finish them faster.
9. Maybe a new mode that you can play only select expansions/adventures in. That way creative decks might appear, not just putting everything that is OP in the deck and call it a day.
10. I like the discard mechanic but it’s too rng. It would be cool if you cand choose what cards to discard.
Allowing the player to choose what to discard what actually completely turn discarding from a risk/detriment into an actual total benefit. You would get strong cards like succubus or doomguard with above average stats (or even an extra effect such as charge with doomguard) that also generates summoning things like Silverware Golems for free out of thin air. Imagine the legendary minion with being able to choose as well, constant discarding and buffing of it in your hand without having to discard an actual card ever.
That seems fair. Maybe make it like a quest so you don't just start aggro or adjust discard cards. Anyway now it's too rng for my taste, that is why only doomguards and soulfire see play, because you use it to go face and don't care about board or what you have in hand.
* Auto squelch option
* a weekly AND monthly quest each month which is not done in a 10 min to an hour (expand the 3 quests to 5)
* 2v2 would be nice, enjoyable
* the option to order my decks
* achievements: more and an overview
* like in other blizz games a Christmas present
* possibility to scroll through played cards (thanks iPohl for that one, can remember I was thinking of that a couple of times)
* Give me the SORRY emote back
* A new hero: monk would be awesome (and don't tell me it's not possible)
And for the funs:
* remove druid from the game :p
Guess that was it lol
Happy New Year everyone
Nerf Shadowreaper Anduin
It's super powerful because of Raza the Chained, it will be weaker when he rotates out
1.Return of the adventures
2.Cheeper packs
3.Control meta(at long last) :D
Happy New Year everyone!Best wishes!
