Blizzard to Update Deathstalker Rexxar to Include New Beasts
There was a bit of outcry this past weekend about Rexxar not getting updated beasts. The Hearthstone team agrees with the community that they should have updated his Build-a-Beast Hero Power and an update to it will make its way here in the future. No date is yet available for the update, but we've been told they'll let us know when they have more information to share.
Some beasts may end up being not included on his hero power, much like how King of Beasts is not included.
Quote from KeganbeGreetings,
Many players have noticed that Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power does not include any of the new Beasts that were added with the Kobolds & Catacombs expansion.
Since then, some players have provided constructive feedback regarding the state of Deathstalker Rexxar, and we agreed that a change to the Hero Power was warranted.
As such, we will be updating Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power to include new Beasts going forward. Please be patient, as this is a fairly complicated endeavor and we may need to start with a smaller change before a more permanent solution is implemented. We don’t have a date for this change to share with you today, but we will provide more information once we have it.
Please also note that as new Beasts are released, we may need to mark some of them as exempt for various reasons, much like how King of Beasts is currently excluded from the pool of Beasts that Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power can pull from.
Thank you for providing constructive feedback. We see your love and passion for Hearthstone and believe that the best way to make Hearthstone better is to do so together.
See you all in the Tavern!
They didn't plan to actually do that. It was by design because of how complex the task is to do. Now, it's nice that they are doing it, though!
I counted and there are a total of 4 beasts this expansion(in hunter, there are 2 more in druid and mage, but you can't get them with rexxar), they are good yeah but it's not buffing the card very much there are 2 problems with the card:
1.it contradicts the hunter game plan,
2.the battlecry is the weakest of all the DKs for some odd reason..
even spells hunter mostly win by burning down the opponent.. there is no "control hunter" hunter is not suppoused to be a control class but they manage to give hunter some other playstyles and deck building with spells hunter and recruit hunter, and further support to secrets hunter.
Now if they could change DK Rexxar to include a random zombiest on the board when cast then I would be ecstatic, two damage aoe is not enough.
2 damage AOE rexxar is played in basically every controlish midrange hunter deck it's the other hunter cards and the hero power that isn't so good for control

Good. My hydra better be included
So, knowing blizzard, we are probably going to see this patch toghether with 2018 rotation
I think the simplest solution is to show each text separate for 2 seconds with some fade fancy animation between them. What do you guys think about this? Any downside?
This is good. It could be used to test the idea of adding cards after an expansion gets stale. It might even have a significant effect on the meta this time unlike the Marin experiment.
Much better, and i am glad they answered soon enough.
Although this thing of exceptional exclusions bothers me quite a bit, still.
I'd be happy to see more keywords, if that helps with the problem.
They have to exclude some, can you imagine a Vicious Fleeing with a Stonetusk Boar?
Way to much OP xD
You can get those two.
Vicious Fledgling with a Stonetusk Boar is already possible.
My bad then :p
Then i don't know other special combinations that can be way too power, but the option to exclude some cards should still exists, since you never know the day after tomorrow.
So in wild, (like with Yogg Saron) the pool increases? I need to make sure.
