In this order, I'm hoping for:
1. Aluneth
2. Val'anyr
3. Kingsbane
Twig of the World Tree for OTK. Malygos + attack to FACE+ 2 swipe + 2 moon fire = 31 dmg GG
Aluneth, Woecleaver pretty good
Valanyr will realise hardly, idk maybe for grimestreet or midrange
Dragon Soul for miracle dragon lmao
Rhok'delar wtf but maybe good, but in my first opinion is a shit
Runespear forfun lol
Skull in handlock ofc
Kingsbane for aggro ggwp
and others are playable maybe
It will be Harrison/Ooze meta, so it's bad.
Val'anyr, Dragon Soul and Aluneth are the best ones, very easy to measure their worth. Twig and Kingsbane have great potential, but they probably lack enough support to see competitive play right now. The rest seems really bad lul.
I hope to get Dragon Soul as Priest is my favorite class, but if not, I'd like to get the Kingsbane, as I've wanted to make a, if not viable, at least a fun deck using lifesteal weapons.
My tier list for weapons in the meta of KnC is :
1)Aluneth because tempo and aggro mage can be a thing with this card in the past we saw it happen
2)Val'anyr goes infinite and has good synergy may be too slow though
3)Kingsbane concept is good but doesn't have enough support yet
4)Woecleaver very powerfull especially in wild dragon warrior deck
5)Dragon Soul priest has more powerfull cards but by itself is not a bad card
6)Rhok'delar straight meme card
7)Twig of the World Tree straight meme card
8)The Runespear meme/noobtrap
9)Skull of the Man'ari garbage because you can not decide which demon and even if you design deck aroung this still is not that good.
In conclusion except for Aluneth non of them will see tier 1 gameplay in standart in this expension and they all will probably get support in the next expension.
Let me politely disagree;
1) Should be way lower because it's completely useless against weapon removal. Which will probably included in every single deck.
2) Look at Hammer of Twilight, which was really bad. It will take at least 3 turns before this gives more value. Also vulnerable to silence, stealing the minion or shuffling it back in your deck.
3) Definitely number 1. Cavern Shinyfinder, Leeching Poison, Envenom Weapon synergy + prevents fatigue damage.
4) Vulnerable to weapon removal. And arguably worse than Varian Wrynn. And he wasn't very good.
5) Vulnerable to weapon removal. Not sure about the effect.
6) Garbage
7) Should be number 2, how is this a traight meme card? If it's destroyed early, the advantage speaks for itself. If you break it late game you could have 20 mana in a single turn.
8) Garbage
9) Garbage
In conclusion: The Druid and Rogue weapon have the best chance at seeing tier 1 gameplay.
you assumption of weapon removal will be meta is to be polite wrong.Weapons in general are not good for starters which makes weapon removal not that good.My assumption is people will try all weapons in first week and everybody will run weapon removal but when meta is set which is 2-3 weeks from reliese weapon removal will be gone.
1)Because your assumption on weapon removal is wrong this card is the best out of these.
2)The deck which runs most silences runs only 2 copies atm which is priest and one of them is aoe.Since people wont play both this and trion in similar times and there are other paladin cards require silence this card is the second best card and still will see tier 2 gameplay.
3)Simply doesn't have enough support you people talk about lifesteal and poison but the real important thing is stat and there aren't enough buffs on it like warrior has which brings us to
4)Warrior has enough weapon support to make this card usefull what i think is this card will create some sort of a weapon dragon pirate warrior.
5)Dragon soul has good support in priest but the problem is deck has much better cards than this.Issue is not weapon removal.
6)Probably a meme card but has potential with recruit in my opinion since you can take all minions from deck before playing the weapon. This is a deck challange card which doesn't have enough support.
7)Issue with this card is has to be drawn in early to hit 5 times or 4 times what i mean is this is more useless than other ramp cards unless drawn very very early. In consistent with medivh. As you said also vulnarable to weapon removal and taunts. You can not get rid of durability if you are gona get 5 damage everytime you want to.
8)memecard or garbage i agree
9)Some people claim has potential but the issue is at the start of your turn and inconsistency on the set up.
In conclusion weapon removal won't be a thing because these weapons are not that good. There is 1 5 star weapon and 2 4 star weapons while rest is 2 or lower. And yes rogue weapon is the best one but it doesn't have enough support. While paladin ,mage and warrior has.Which makes mage weapon only tier 1 card while rest will rot in best case tier 2 or even 3 until this expension ends.
I want Rhok'delar as my free one. I want to try to make it work, but I'm not sure I would actually craft it.
Obviously the top three are the ONLY weapons that don't get countered by weapon removal
My list:
Happy: Val'anyr & Kingsbane
Okay With: Twig of the World Tree, Aluneth, Dragon Soul, & Skull of the Man'ari
VERY UNHAPPY: Rhok'delar, Woecleaver, & The Runespear
Probably going to end up getting one of the ones I like the least (and have the worst playability)...
I love Rhok'delar
I like Val'anyr
Do not dust anything on day 1. I actually see a bit of potential in warrior weapon.
the only thing I see happen is what they tried in the game yesterday, a sort of Big Warrior. But to be honest, the deck failed hard and only won because the shaman deck they played against was crap, too.
In the actual meta this would have been crushed entirely by several decks.
Well.
Kingsbane seems to be good, because of Cavern Shinyfinder . Even with counters you will still be able to plaly it 2-3x and get value from it, if you can buff it. I think that it is good, but maybe a normal weapon is just better, because you lose tempo?
Val'anyr can be good..as long as you dont eat a Hex , Polymorph or silence, while that would burn that effect and save your Tirion Fordring ?
Aluneth is just a card draw... could be OK, but i dont think that you will get much value in the coming meta. But since the rest of the legendary weapons are "not so good"... maybe you can get away with it.
Woecleaver is "ok" if you get a 6 mana minion out, so as long as you play a deck with minions that cost only 6 or more you could get tempo value here as well. I'm just not sure if a deck like this could work... maybe in wild?
I can think about some decks to use the other weapons... but weapons like Dragon Soul that need you to get a good Lyra the Sunshard going (that would set up your win anyway) seem not good in my eyes and i hope that i dont get them.
Twig of the World Tree , Val'anyr , Kingsbane or Dragon Soul. Any other weapon will be a disappointment for me.
Facing Kel Rogues these days I am worried about the power level of the next meta. Flodding the board with 1/5s wasn't enough I guess. I somehow don't see how 30 health heroes are still optimal in such a design.
Miss those days where you actually could comeback in a game and people had respect for minions like Ragnaros. Now it is just about who draws Bonemare or Deathknights first. gg I guess.
As far as alternate legendaries go, the weapons are closer to Un'Goro's quests (incredibly lopsided with some unfairly overpowered and others insultingly trash) than Frozen Throne's Death Knights (all viable, useful and in some cases meta-impacting to some extent or another). If we're being realistic, only Aluneth, Kingsbane and Dragon Soul really have a chance of being actually GOOD, with Twig of the World Tree and Val'anyr possibly working in some kind of gimmick decks, and the rest (Runespear and Woecleaver in particular) being absolute hot garbage. But if any of them really DO become extremely powerful, then everyone is just going to run all of the weapon removal and beat the asses of any naive idiots who try to make them really work (except Kingsbane, for obvious reasons).
kingsbane obc, deadly posion+ lleeching poison, is insane value, its like a tiny uther of the ebon blade weapon
