It seems Blizzard is slowly learning it's lesson that cheap mana ramp is one of the most OP mechanics in the game .
This card is of course worse than jade blossom but it kinda makes sense not give druid any more powerhouses .
You are right I think they are preparing for the next rotation when both old golds and mean streets will rotate (jade blossom and mire keeper will not be available anymore in standard)
ramp is not problem. i think jade idols OP mechanic (infinite source!!!).
Big druid is just as good as jade due to ramp .
the only reason jades are more popular is cause jade druid is cheaper to make while big druid requires many expensive leg .
IF that's the logic, why not print this card in the next set when the current ramp rotates out? Why do we need to have several months of even more Ramp into ramp into ramp into UI?
This card won't replace Jade Blossom in Big Druid. Blossom is better cause is a 5 mana guaranteed next turn (cause maybe opponent doesn't kill your minion just to make your ramp slower) and Y'Shaarj doesn't have a chance to recruit a useless 3/1 from the deck.
Blossom is better forthe immediate ramp. Ysharj is unnecessary though... You could use both.
Did you just propose that Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound is unnececcary in meta Big Druid? The best card you can play after Priest goes Anduin?
I'd say 8 pieces of ramp that go into Big Druid these days are optimal. Sure, there are some matches where you're able only to ramp once or twice, but then again, so there are matches when you can't use all ramp in your hand fast enough and still have some left after you are at 10 mana (and usually it's a [card]Jade Blossom[card], this new card is even more clunky, since you're not guaranteed to have 2 more mana after you play it).
Shadowverse has a card like this and it sees a lot of play.. will see play.
Jade Blossom and Mire Keeper will rotate next year so this minion is a good replacement in the future for sure
I keep seeing people point that out... but it's still stupid. If this card is being 'printed' to replace ramp cards being rotated out.... PUT IT IN THE SET THAT ROTATES THEM OUT. Jade Blossom and Mire Keeper wont rotate out until the next set after K&C is released, there is going to be zero time where they are rotated out and they need a K&C card to replace them. Bliz is just being dumb and/or evil by putting this card in this set and not the next one.
Sounds greedy.
Good for ramping in non jade druid decks. Will replace Jade Blossom
Mana and deathrattle mechanics together are pretty good :D
Why is this guy being downvoted?
Not a very interesting card, but it seems good. Will probably see play.
If it was "deathrattle: gain a mana crystal" I'd consider playing it over Jade Blossom because you can trade and use the extra mana crystal then, but as it stands I think blossom is a far stronger card. Maybe this'll see play over blossom in some kinda ez big druid that doesn't run jades but this doesn't instantly ramp up into Nourish while blossom guarantees you get the crystal for the next turn.
It MIGHT "instantly ramp into nourish", in case your opponent doesn't want to be smorced by a 3/1, same principle as the warrior deathrattle that gives 6 armor in the opponent's turn, but better because it's a good effect that can trigger in both turns
Its an EMPTY mana crystal therefore the turn you trade it in to something, it will still not be usable.
