They don't care about wild LuL
It's free on turn 3 if you go:
T1: Lost in the Jungle
T2: Hero Power
T3: Muster for Battle for 6 recruits, cast Crystal Lion
They have to live obviously, but it does happen.
Could be a pretty good card for Dude Pala in Wild. The downside is that it's vulnerable to Shadow Word: Death and Shadowreaper Anduin, because it would be the only card in the deck with more than 4 attack.
I'm not sure the "strictly negative" comparison to Thing from Below is entirely fair. Yes, Thing from Below gets a permanent discount while Crystal Lion requires Silver Hand Recruit's in play, but Paladin is very able to make recruits for cheap and buff them to make them sticky, and Shaman really can't do the same for their totems (when was the last time you saw Totemic Might?). You only need a couple of recruits in play to make this a good deal, so if some standard Dude Paladin deck works, this card can see play. Otherwise, it probably only sees play in Wild and Arena.
Or just hold your lost in the jungles until turn 4 and play everything at the same time.
Beasts aren't made of crystal.
So why isn't it an elemental then?
Elementals aren't made of lion

Investing your resources to summon and keep your silver hand recruits alive is not worth, so I don't think this card will see play in tier1 or 2 decks.
Would be great to see it in arena deck
Also it has divine shield that do that minion 5/6
If muster for battle was still here I'd be like "heck yeah", but we've got lost in the jungle and stand against darkness right now. So I'm like "alright I'll take it I guess". I still don't think this makes me want to run level up!
I'd be a little worried about it being the 4th rare, maybe they changed the card distribution? Like cutting one of the class commons for a class rare, or cutting the mass dust that is the final stretch of neutral commons and turn them into 9 more class rares?
There's Muster for Battle, Justicar and if you get very lucky Silver Hand Regent (3 mana inspire: paladin's hero power) in wild.
In standard:
Stand against darkness makes this a 6 mana summon a 5/5 with divine shield and 5 1/1. Eh.
For each Lost in the Jungle, you play that turn you reduce 2 mana out of this, so a good roll would be 5 mana 5/5 and 2 1/1s.
Vinecleaver, that's a two-turn combo and could eat weapon removal, that would reduce 2 mana out of this that turn, as it's a late game option, you'd also get to use the hero power.
The unidentified maul summon effect, it doesn't guarantee the discount, as you would need 7 mana to pull it out in one turn.
And the Kobold Jailer, that put the recruits in your hand.
Except there's no 5 mana summon 5 totems.
so you play stand against darkness with it in turn 6
This card is pretty good in arena. On turn 5 you might even be able to do Lost in the Jungle then Crystal Lion for two 1/1s and a 5/5 divine shield for total of just 5 mana.
Figurine of wonderous power ;)
Yep. And just as useless.
Reporting for duty :D
