Edit: accidentaly replied to a random guy, sry
Servant of Kalimos adds an elemental that didn't start in your deck
If you get Pyros, it's a free card :D

wow! just wow!
Now you don't need quest to complete the exodia. Double simulacrum and discount mage this a lot easier.
You copy the two apprentice with simulacrum. Since those two new apprentice didn't start in your deck, when you play Layline manipulator, it will reduce those two apprentice to cost (0). Then with 10 mana, play Antonidas (7) + Two Free Apprentice (0) + First Molten Reflection (2) + Second Molten Reflection (1) = Total of 10 mana and you already get fireballs from the Molten Reflection and therefore, you now have infinite Fireballs.
yeah its possible, but if enemy Dirty Rat either of the 2( 0mana sorcerer) or antonidas the combo dies, with the quest you can use simulacrum to copy the missing apprentice so you only lose if he gets antonidas, way better ods.
True, it is a risk you're going to have to take but the benefit is that you don't have to cast spells that are sometimes not that beneficial to you and now you can focus on just drawing your deck and defending yourself. Plus, it's an OTK, which may or may not matter.
or you can just stick this guy into quest mage and get the benefit of both worlds.
Nice card. You may play Steam Surger and some face damage spell from glyph and then OTK with Malygos
This is insane in Elemental Mage, since it affects Flame Elementals, Flame Geysers from Steam Surgers, discoveries from Servant of Kalimos, Simulacrum copies, and Pyros in its 6/6 and 10/10 forms. Along with all of the random spell generating cards (of which Shimmering Tempest is both one and an Elemental, if some sort of hybrid quest deck works out) and a few new Elementals like Arcane Tyrant, this looks like it could be an incredibly strong deck, especially if Arcane Tyrant works like I think it does and can trigger off of 5+ Cost spells that have been discounted, which would let you get some huge tempo swings in the midgame.
Can't wait to reduce the cost my The Coin by 2. Kappa.
It's hard to look at this is anything other than a powercreeped Chillwind Yeti, but I actually think the 4 cost is kind of clever. Mage has other solid 4 drop elementals (Water Elemental, Steam Surger), and Blizzard has said in the past that they have a goal of over-saturating certain mana slots to force players to make hard decisions when deckbuilding. Adding Leyline Manipulator may push out other good 4 drops because a deck simply can't have that many 4 drop minions. This makes Leyline Manipulator a pretty interesting card - if you play Leyline Manipulator on curve, you may only reduce the cost of a couple of cards (maybe one spell from Babbling Book, and the second form of Pyros, or maybe two spells from Ruby Spellstone). That's still pretty good, but if you've replaced a copy of Water Elemental with Leyline Manipulator and you need to slow an aggressive opponent down, you may be a bit bummed that your minion only has 5 health and can't freeze its targets.
This is for sure a Chillwind Yeti powercreep, although you probably won't play it on curve with so low value on it (Cabalist's Tome is a five drop) at non-aggro matchup, so u can undoubtedly add is as another 4-drop, as it will be against aggro and wont against something more slow.
It's definitely a powercreeped Chillwind Yeti, I don't dispute that, I just mean that it's also a pretty interesting deckbuilding decision point. I agree that you probably wouldn't play this on curve against a slower opponent because you'd want the battlecry value, but you only have so much room for 4 drop cards in a deck. If you want to just slot this in alongside your other powerful 4 drop elementals, you have to take something out. If you take out higher end cards, you risk your late game finishing power, and if you take out lower end cards you risk an unplayable mulligan and being overrun early. So, its statline may be more clever than just lazy powercreeping.
