I like it, probably gonna craft it, Silence be damned!
Sure looks like a fun card o play... not sure yet thou if it's gonna be realy competitive or just for a meme-buffer deck.
must try in quest paladin
Day one craft for me. I love Galvadon even if he isn't too good. This card may be weak to silence but they also have to deal with galv, Tirion, and the things I buff along the way. Either she will be silence bait to help get out a clean tirion /galv or they are for her.
SILENCE!
Selfmill handbuff paladin x2 Lay on Hands, X2 Call To Arm, X2 Small-time Recruit and tons of low cost minions. Kappa
Is...
Quest Paladin viable now?
Woah.
And Quest Warlock and Quest Rogue is too now, apparently.
Just need a good one for Hunter Quest.
Not really. Getting the quest completed is very easy and can be done well before you even have this on the board. The problem with the quest is that the reward is just complete garbage and does nothing to help you win the game most of the time.
Quest Hunter is somewhat viable right now! but its obviously incredibly weak to skulking geistKilllllllll Me
Again showing my incredible Stupidity
This is great for Quest Paladin, and probably decent in any Paladin deck that runs more buffs than just Spikeridged Steed.
With Spikeridged Steed being a 6-cost this would've been amazing... If it weren't for fucking Psychic Scream.
Oh please, then you can just play it again later. What about a single silence effect?
Why do people keep saying silence? Any silence PALADIN has access to is NOT from a spell, lordy.
It says spells that you cast
Yes, but on their turn they can simply play a spellbreaker and silence it
Thank you.
Well, I'm crafting it, good or bad.
But real-talk, though, is it good? Actually, yes, I think it really is, because of Spikeridged Steed. We all know already that spikeridged steed is a seriously solid card, I don't think that needs explanation. Now, consider the fact that it's sometimes worthwhile to play it onto a recruit, just to save yourself. That's a legitimate use of this card. Now, suppose you had a card that would allow you to do that, for 1 mana cheaper. You've basically just added an extra copy of spikeridged steed to your deck, is what I'm saying.
But wait, as they say in infomercials, there's more. Because you're probably running at least 2 copies of that in your deck, you could get a 7-mana 5/13, with taunt, and summon 2 2/6s with taunt as the deathrattle. And that's not even including any other buffs you happen to be running. So maybe you run this card with just 2 spike-ridges, fine, that's still great, but what if you throw in a few Blessing of Kings? Blessed Champion? Even a few Adaptations could get you stealth or can't be targeted. If you're getting creative, you could pack a few bounces with Desperate Stand, for even more action.
The only weakness is the rest of your deck not being strong enough, either to A. Draw out your opponent's hard removal, or B. Follow up when this gets hard-removed. But that's not this card's fault, like someone referenced with Tirion, just because it's vulnerable to hard removal doesn't make it bad. Everything is vulnerable to hard removal.
Added bonuses: leftover mana allows you to prepare a backup plan, (i.e. drop a fledgling, or even just some random smaller minions).
Only downside? If you run this card in a buffadin, you better not try to use eggs with Humility, or you'll get humiliated.
I'm calling it right now, as long as Palys see play, and Spikeridged Steed is available, this will be in pretty much all of them, and that is not a claim I make lightly.
I'd argue that you absolutely can compare it to an extra steed. You just need to account for the fact that it's slightly worse than steed, in that regard. And then you can consider that it is entirely possible to hit it with two steeds, which, at 7 mana, I would hands down prefer to 1 steed.
