Let's do this!
Live Updates
Important notes from the stream will go here!
- Stream is live! Peter Whalen and Kibler are on our view.
- Peter was the lead on the Kobold's set. One game designer is the lead for each set which means they are a part of both design periods - initial design and final design.
- They always want to try and do something different with each set. "Let's do the treasure set".
- Today we'll see a cute card and a dragon.
- WHAT?! Rogues got a SECRET!
- Earlier in the Hearthstone days, Rogues used to be a secret class. They were shifted into Paladin instead though since Rogue had a lot already going on.
- There will be more Rogue secrets in this set - a total of 3.
- The next set will not have Rogue secrets. Maybe other ones.
- We are going to see more Dragon stuff in the set.
- Kathrena is the only Hunter card with Recruit.
- Not all classes have the Recruit mechanic.
- Branching Paths doesn't work with Fandral. It's not a Choose One card.

Cool, Rogue got a secret. I'm not sure why, but... now Rogues got secrets. Fine?
Would've been cooler if their secrets cost 4. Like, really expensive, but absolutely devastating...
Oh well.
Also that dragon is broken.
Wow, finally Rogue secrets!!!
Well it's good to see that they learned from Druids and Priests dominating the meta, and gave them all the best cards once again.
If Feral Gibberer has the beast tag, it would be seriously broken in quest hunter with Tundra Rhino
EXACTLY what I was thinking! Probably would be the only way to make Quest Hunter viable though, hahaha. :)P
which is probably why it does not have the beast tag hey
Ok some info im taking in from the cards that were just revealed, there will be 1 more rogue secret, think feral gibberer should be a beast idk just seems like it should be one, branching paths can be played for 4mana 12 armor, shaman legendary weapon is just a fun card dont see it being used in any competitive deck and the most important part.... blizzard seems to be putting alot of emphasis on minion placement with this set, crushing walls and sudden betrayl are some things we have to think about when laying down our minions on the board.
Guys Captain Obvious just told us something we already know! WOOHOO!!
How long must Shaman pay penance for the aggro shaman meta? They are tier 3 now and that legendary weapon will be one of the worst cards in the set. Meanwhile, Priest, one of the strongest classes in the meta, is getting what will be the best 4 drop in the game. FeelsBadMan
They also get to pay for the midrange shaman meta as well.
No one mourns the wicked.
The class was tier 1 for a solid 1.75 years, no doubt. But it was *awful* before that. I remember when Ancestral Knowledge was revealed and Reynad said, "The problem with this card isn't the overload. The problem with this card is that it draws shaman cards."
Point is, you can have a class be competitive, like the un'goro token shaman, without giving it unplayable joke cards. Look at the Lich King shaman cards - every single one is unplayable outside of Thrall. And now we get this abhorrent weapon.
Love the direction they are taking with Rogue for this expansion. Flavor-wise, Rogues have always been the best Class for Secrets (Trickery, Stealth).
Also, Rogues getting Control tools instead of more Tempo cards will hopefully lower the power level of Rogues in Arena to the level of other classes.
Hopefully this will also enable more Control-oriented Rogue decks.
I think the reason that a lot of people are disappointed or not so hyped about this expansion is because the previous expansion was Frozen Throne, we are comparing boring Kobolds to powerful Death Knights, but that is Hearthstone, some expansions they'll go for the more light/funny/whimsical side of things. I bought it because I love HS and I'll buy every expansion they release until I stop loving it, but I agree that I was much more hyped with KotFT.
I like the idea of Branching Paths. Dont know if it's playable, but I like to see new and different ideas
It is literally said on the notes:
Now now. The Runespear is clearly the most broken card here.
We all know that we'll get Pyroblast thrice... and we all that there's a giant magnet on my face.
It's a Shaman weapon, so no pyroblast
Well, I know what you mean by that. And if the magnet fails, there's always good'ol Yogg to recharge that magnet as well.
One could say that, destroying your self in such order is... a magnificent way to go out?
Sorry, not sorry. :P
