Kobolds Reveal Season Kicks Off! Newly Revealed Cards Within
Woohoo! The next two weeks are being kicked off today with a card reveal stream featuring Brian Kibler and Peter Whalen. We saw nine new cards get revealed and you can check them all out below. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to get notified when new cards get revealed.
Let's do this!
Live Updates
Important notes from the stream will go here!
- Stream is live! Peter Whalen and Kibler are on our view.
- Peter was the lead on the Kobold's set. One game designer is the lead for each set which means they are a part of both design periods - initial design and final design.
- They always want to try and do something different with each set. "Let's do the treasure set".
- Today we'll see a cute card and a dragon.
- WHAT?! Rogues got a SECRET!
- Earlier in the Hearthstone days, Rogues used to be a secret class. They were shifted into Paladin instead though since Rogue had a lot already going on.
- There will be more Rogue secrets in this set - a total of 3.
- The next set will not have Rogue secrets. Maybe other ones.
- We are going to see more Dragon stuff in the set.
- Kathrena is the only Hunter card with Recruit.
- Not all classes have the Recruit mechanic.
- Branching Paths doesn't work with Fandral. It's not a Choose One card.

feral gibbler- not even a beast so its even weaker than the penguin(also not cute)
branching paths- would make no sense if you could not choose the same twice, mark of the lotus is going away so it might be a good replacement for agro druids tho i have my doubts since it is still abit costly for the type of deck... really good as 12 armor for any kind of late druid that wants armor.
runespear- Best coment i read so far i loled have my approval
Branching patch you can choose the same ability twice.
What's the cute card? Cuz none of those are cute. At all.
Feral Gibberer is cute
According to Peter Whalen it's Feral Gibberer...
Feral Gibberer could be interesting in quest hunter
As a card game player in general i feel a little disapointed with the cards so far.
As a F2P player i feel a little appeased since very little cards so far seems playable.
Too bad one of the only cards that it seems playable it's a legendary, and we all know that our packs will be filled with Giberer's.
May just be time to take a short break from the game & come back to see how you feel later?
Not a single interesting card. :X
1 broken OP Priest card (who would have thought), the rest is mediocre at best. Unsure about Hunter Legendary. Could be a hidden gem, if enough high level threats are introduced and Hunter can find enough low-cost beast replacements.
The priest card is good, but only when you are behind on board and and ahead in card advantage. There is obviously no way you are using this when you have a developed board 9/10 times. Although, I do admit I am getting tired of seeing priests be given removal cards (especially mass removals).
Couldn't agree more. Cards these days are so bad/boring
It's a better Abyssal Enforcer in a control-deck for 3 less mana. That shit is broken. As dragon priest you don't swarm the board early, you play from behind.
Are you mad? Every single one of these cards and their effects are completely new and some of these effects will drastically change the game.
if you are playing that legendary you dont want too many low cost beasts in your deck, imagine getting an alley cat from it(i know it's going away just an easy example)
Hence me stating "low-cost beast replacements" (:
How are these "completely new effects"? O_o
Getaway Kodo for Rogue?
Misdirection for Rogue?
Quartermeister as a spell?
Summon a minion from your deck?
Tortollan Primalist as a weapon?
There is not a single new card here, and the only new mechanism comes from the spell stone, and even that is a generic summon a 5/5 minion... how exciting. Well and Feral Gibberer, but that's a meme card anyway.
I don't, but in the same vein there is nothing wrong about my statement of "not a single interesting card".
Really don't like the idea of first giving everyone a weapon & now giving more classes secrets (because it makes secret-based play even more of a nightmare with an expected increase in anti-secret tech)
BUT
I do love rogues the next class to get secrets. Aside from the few combo point cards the class doesn't represent what we see in WoW that much, until now with a little more 'secretness' in how they set up plays. Priests already took most of the thievery aspects from what could have been given to rogues more so some rogue secrets is a step in the right direction.
