IMO a solid 80% of the submissions above are either completely useless or wayy of the balance curve.
I really cant see the "design" side of it as opposed to making a card up.
I dont think fingers needed to be pointed at blizzard's card content. The financial aspect however is a different story
I would be happy to see any of these make it to the game, tbh. Great job everyone!
If I may, each one of these cards was a winner of a competition within the past season. Each competition required each competitor to design a card that followed a specific series of rules.
Archangel of Tithes in particular had to mimic a card from another CCG.
You can see the rules that each card had to follow by clicking any of the cards!
...this is the part where I awkwardly tell you that it was I who came with the theme for that competition.
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it just that the art that had to replicate, and the actual effect could be anything?
I mean, I get it. Given that the effect and stats could be anything, what exactly do you do with it? With no framework on that front, the door is wide open. So going with a near-carbon copy is understandable. That said, the creativity-lover in me wishes it wasn't just a near-carbon copy.
I believe it was art and name that you had to use, while effect/stats could be anything.
I think most people took it as a challenge of 'how do I translate this card into Hearthstone?', because otherwise it was just 'create whatever card you want, and then pick and choose a card from another game with art/name that works with that'. Finding that perfect card to translate, and deciding how to do it, how to word it as a Hearthstone card, was a really interesting challenge. Not your usual WCDC, certainly.
