I would be very disappointed if we had to be force to play other Blizzard games just to get some card backs in out collection.

Okay, so how do you even tell what you have? Better still, how can you even change them?

I'm sure they will be providing more information soon. Likely a new interface element ;)

You can change them by going to the Options Menu within the Settings Menu. Currently everyone has ONLY the ones we originally started with. None of these backings have been awarded as of yet.

What exactly is a "promotional event"? Cuz everyone and their grandmother is gonna have the second one, so I wanna know if closed beta participation counts for the third or not.

My best guess is that it will be kinda like how Riot does in-person event champion skins. Visit the Blizzard booth at Pax? Here's a code for a Hearthstone card back!

That's the point though! Gives you a bit of customization to show your opponents how awesome you are. Fear Whimsyshire!

except I would not even notice, this game lack any use of face down hence reason why people bother get customized sleves in TCG games^^

I agree with you, but without the option to add different backings, the next best thing they could really do is create some kind of achievement list... because how else would they promote replay value in between seasons?

What is with the rainbow on the 4th card?

Probably because you also recognized that the Rainbows are from Diablo III and the only next logical step is that the last card has to be for Warlords =)

I don't think they are close to being identical. They have to have some similarities, but there are some distinct differences.
