Interaction Between Thrall, Deathseer and Unlicensed Apothecary Fixed in Next Patch
The bugged interaction between Thrall, Deathseer and Unlicensed Apothecary will be fixed! Mike Donais has confirmed on reddit this evening that the fix will arrive with the next Hearthstone game update.
We'll likely see something this month as they have to get that new card back into the game somehow.
If you aren't aware of the issue, here's how it works.
- You play Thrall, Deathseer which transforms your minions on board.
- One of your minions becomes Unlicensed Apothecary.
- Each minion transformed, other than Apothecary, deals 5 damage to your hero. RIP

The best way too fix this interaction is to change the card text of licensed apothecary to "played" instead of summoned. An epic card with this downside ruins the card. Epics are niche effects, but this is literally unplayable. Also while at it, please redesign dreadsteed to a playable card. I used to love dreadsteed decks, but the dreadsteed combos that made the deck strong, are very hard/ impossible to set up. I accept that dreadsteed as I knew it is gone, because of defile, but then I want the card to do something new. I also think illidans statlines should be looked at, since he is more or less unplayable. His effect are not amazing either, but the statlines should make up for it.. Bladeflurry should be revamped or un-nerfed and hall of famed. Ancient of lore should be reworked. It could be choose one: heal for 5 or give a minion +2/2 and +2 spellpower. My point is it should be something new.
I also don't like that innervate became a coin. It could be a new spell instead, that didnt manipulated manacrystals. When the nerf bat hits, it shouldn't make the card unplayable, but rather be seen as an operunity to make something new and exciting. An example of a good nerf is murloc warleader. That effect was too strong, and should've been looked at much sooner, even pre Naxx. Some cards are hard to nerf, because the card is balanced, but synergises too well with other cards, I would like a revamp of those cards instead of slightly changing the effect or changing statlines, that makes the card unplayable.
I agree Illidan is bad but his stat is like that for flavor.
He has 5 heath and 7 attack, to kill him an druid need to hit him 5 times so its 35 damage he has to take the druid would also get 5 armor so he has 35 heath. so when malfurion kill illidan Illadan kills him exactly. I think its to simulate that the 2 brothers don't like each other.

Yeah, but if you have a patron on board the max it can trigger is 20, so it's not like they couldn't add that to Dreadsteed.
i am trying to go around doomsayer by rarely evolving 1 mana minions, and i even sometimes go around this apothecary by not evolving 2 mana minions so this doesnt happen lol
FINALLY, a patch that actually accomplishes something positive for once! This actually happened to me once, reduced me to 2 health...and I STILL won that game, LOL. XP
O hell no! If warlock has to deal with this, so does everybody else. Claiming unintentional bs, its the same as if, someone playing leeroy jenkins against you.
Don't change it, leave it exactly the way it is.
Yeah man I can't play bane of doom or kabal trafficker just because of the chance of getting unlicensed apothecary and ruining my krul and gul'dan. It's legit the only reason I don't play either of those cards and don't kazakus for demons. There are 30 demons and getting 1 unlicensed apothecary almost always ruins, if not one, two win conditions simultaneously. Unbelievable that they would protect Shaman from this interaction, but not warlock.
When are they going to fix the bug that allows u to play a full hand of giants on turn 5 for free every turn with see witch? Oh wait that was intended to happen they just forgot to mention it.
It says "whenever", not "after". Why it should be other way? I always love to see how clown fiesta gets punished by their own rules

I don't like this. Apothecary is a "punish" card. Much like Evolving a 5 mana minion into a Big-Time Racketeer. If you choose to evolve, you get what you get. What about nerfing Doomsayer? Cause that not fair too! C'mon. It's part of the game. I understand the wording is sketchy, but then you should change the wording on Apothecary. It's a 3 mana 5/5. That's why it has drawbacks. What about Gul'dan? If he's a summoned demon, when DK Warlock is played, it does the same thing. Now, I know Gul'dan says "summon", but it's still "not fair". I just say leave it alone. You can't always get a good evolve. It's the chance you take playing that deck.
Transforming isn't summoning. This is a bug, and shouldn't damage you. An example. If you transform into Knife Juggler, its effect won't activate.
