The Americas Summer Playoffs Survival Guide! September 16 - 17

Woo! This weekend is home to the Americas Summer Playoffs, the last playoffs for the Summer series! The top 64 players in the region from HCT points, and 8 from the past Tavern Hero event, are competing for $25,000 and a chance to go to the Summer Championship later this year in October.

You can catch all this weekend's action over on Twitch.tv/PlayHearthstone . All information you'll need to follow alongside the event, which includes the schedule, deck lists, and stream can be found below.

Americas Summer Playoffs Format

The format hasn't changed from the Spring Playoffs.

All matches will be using the Standard Format.
All matches will be played with the Best of 5 Conquest Format.
Each player gets to ban 1 opponent deck.
All players are seeded into a Swiss bracket with 7 rounds of play.
Top 8 Swiss advance to a Single Elimination Bracket.
Top 4 from SE advance to the Summer Championship.

I think it's rather embarrassing that there is still no resume from replay. Luker was ahead in one of his games vs Nalguidan, but Luker got disconnected and lost the re-match. Technical issues shouldn't have this big of an impact on the outcome of games. Blizzard implemented this feature years ago for StarCraft 2. I understand that they want to keep Hearthstone simple, but this feature could be offered in a dedicated tournament client that the average player will never use.

Also viewing-wise Hearthstone is poorly equipped for e-sports, with the card views of both players being created by composing two spectator views rather than having a dedicated tournament spectator view like for example Faeria has (a game actually made by a small indie company).

Very high, actually. There are many people who brought lineups with the counter druid strategy. And it actually works. Some guy in APAC reached the finals with such a lineup

Yeah Jade druid isn't as invincible as some think at this point. Last weekends top 8 had some players targeting Druid and taking it down with relative ease.

He was literally coinflipping his way into the finals.
