Blizzard is Considering Options for Druid - More Information this Week
Hearthstone's Game Director, Ben Brode, tweeted this afternoon that we'd be seeing information from Blizzard this week on the problematic Druid class. Stay tuned! To the ground with you!
Quote from Ben BrodeThanks for the feedback regarding Druid. We've been considering options and should have more to share this week.
I agree with your point of view, but in my opinion it's good if Blizzard reacts soon to his errors.
Designers should keep more attention in printing cards with EV so strong (Expected Value): Ultimate Infestation is a card wrong by itself, because a 10mana card can't have an EV = +9 (--> draw 5cards = 10mana; 5damage = 3mana; 5armor = 1mana; 5/5minion = 5mana; total EV = -10+19= +9mana)
Blizzard usually prints cards with positive EV to be playable (classic old school example: 4/5 yeti was good because you gain +0.5 EV on turn 4)
- Now, consider the U.I. EV (wrong by itself) in a class that can reach 10 mana before the others with mana ramp mechanics.
- Now, consider another thing: ramp mechanics usually had the pro to get more mana, but the con to empty your hand. Ultimate Infestation is the solution to all the problems about this mechanics.
- Last thing to consider: your risk could be to get fatigue too soon. But, now there are no problems, because Jade Idol can give you infinite value.
I agree with you if you are saying "the problem is not innervate" or "the problem is not U.I.", but the combination of all these mechanics are incredibly powerful, without counterplays.
Jade is the worst mechanic ever created in Hearthstone in my opinion, but if there are other cards those can allow to play Jades so fast, it becomes a real problem for the gameplay.
Somewhere they have to give a solution soon, and not simply waiting as they waited for Tunnel Trogg + Totem Golem going to Wild.
So, I'm happy if they try to fix the problem. I hope Innervate remains in Standard (I agree about Druid identity), but in this case, they have to fix U.I. in Jades and Vicious Fletching turn 1, because it can win alone a game without give to opponent the time to interact.
[sorry for my bad english]
Because fast mana and slow mana shouldn't be in the same class identity. If the developers back then had even the slightest inkling how huge HS would be then I can guarantee they wouldn't have made such a reckless design mistake.
UI is pretty strong, but honestly it's not the issue. Jade Idol makes it a problem when you can draw 5 copies of it with one card and then proceed to Gadgetzan combo them to lose zero tempo. If Idol didnt exist, UI wouldn't be broken anymore, it would just be good. I mean, I could see them either nerfing to 4/4/4/4 or maybe dropping draw to 3, but it wouldn't fix the issue by itself
No, I'm sorry but it's not correct.
[These are just "pits and details", they are not so important, but the EV of a card is not calculated from other previous cards. In card games, like Magic, Gwent, Hearthstone, etc., you have a basic theory to estimate the power of a card.]
On Hearthstone, the minion-card EV is calculated by adding stats and dividing for 2 (and obviously, adding contributions for their effects as battlecry/deathrattle, etc.), comparing this result with the mana cost.
I said Hs cards are printed with a positive EV to be playable / good cards. So,
Also, my fix would be to print a new card.
4 mana 4/4 Gangbuster.
Reset your opponent's jade counter. Shuffle two worthless imps to the bottom of your opponent's deck. Reset all buffs on cards on your opponent's hand.
With all the cards druid has access to, quest druid is only barely playable. Whenever they nerf, I hope they don't throw the Barnabus out with the bathwater.
It would be nice if they added a condition to summon jade golems, for example, jade spirit, could change to: If you have at least two other minions, summon a jade golem, I think this would be a great nerf to it, actually change it to a 3/3 or something but adding a condition to jade cards would be great, just like jade shuriken for rogue.
Gwent just deployed a huge new patch that changed tons of stuff in the game and added new cards (basically, an expansion).
Of course, when they did that, lots of their new cards are just plain broken, leading to huge imbalances on ladder.
They have realized this, and delayed the opening of their pro-ladder because they don't want people laddering with imbalanced decks, and have stated they will be releasing a hotfix within the next week toning down many of the broken cards.
Less than two weeks from expansion release to a balance patch trying to fix that expansion. That's how you do it. Not a month before you start "considering options" and maybe you'll inform us that you might be patching something sometime. Wake the hell up, Blizzard.
Calm down man, really all they're going to make 'unplayable' is the jade/ramp druid archetype, most likely with changes to Ultimate Infestation, which you might not even have, so in all likeliness it wouldn't even affect you.
Jade idol - kill it with fire. While you are at it, hit some of the other jade cards too - we are all so goddam tired of the worst mechanic ever in hearthstone history, creating big dude should not lead to bigger dudes. No one understands how the idea made it off the whiteboard in the first place.
I hope that they'll change the entire Jade mechanic under the logic that it's rotating soon anyways. UI actually seems really fun in a deck that doesn't have such an oppressive (and mill resistant) package that it can just slide right in. Plus without Jade blossom alot of the ramp goes down. Maybe just increase all druid Jade cards mc by one, remove the choose to shuffle from idol and say f*ck. Hell, I would reinstall for that change.
U know if y'all wouldnt have cried so hard to nerf quest rogue this wouldnt even be a problem...this whole community is just dumb...i need to find another board =/
Just because Quest Rogue repressed another cancer deck doesn't absolve it off also being cancer.
Quest rogue wasn't a cancer and the meta was balanced, Jade druid is so strong. so all your ''You know, if you guys wouldn't have complained about aids we wouldn't have cancer right now'' is nonsense.
