Get a Free Frozen Throne Pack Today? You Were Bugged!
If you logged in to Hearthstone today and received a free card pack from outside the game, this was due to you not receiving a Legendary within your first ten packs of the set but instead received it on your eleventh. This offering should bring your pity timer back to the correct place it should be.
Did you receive a free pack? What'd you open up?
Here's the email they sent out to players found with the issue courtesy of /u/Gravyboat9505.
Quote from BlizzardGreetings,
We recently adjusted the way legendary cards are rewarded from packs. We identified an unintended issue with that change where you received a legendary on your 11th Knights of the Frozen Throne pack instead of within your first 10 packs. Because we did not intend for that to happen, we are giving you a free Knights of the Frozen Throne pack as an apology.
Thanks for your continued support, and we'll see you at the Inn!
Hearthstone Team.
very well them
I got legendary in 6th or maybe even 5th pack, so no free pack for me I suppose
Mine was in my 10th. So close...
Arrays start at 0
.. 10, 11 ..!
But what if I got a free Arena ticket yesterday? It said something like 'You have an extra Arena ticket! This time, don't worry about payment'
Here's a proof: http://imgur.com/a/BGMxY
It probably means you just haven't finished all your Frost Festival arena tickets.
What? But I play Arena every day! And, if I remember correctly, during Frost Festival there was a different text.
Is there a person able to adequately explain why that happened instead of silly disliking?
I had 6 Bring It On! cards in 40 packs, no other epics. Not sure if that counts as bugged
But now you can make 'Bring it On Warrior' deck
-15 jesus guys I wasnt asking that as a sincere question.
If only you could put more than 2 in your deck right!
That's what happen when programmers use counter that starts from 0 and still write <=10 in the code
That's what totally happened in blizzard's spaghetti code base.
How come only so few were affected by it then?
If the pack is randomly chosen between 1 and 11, it will follow a normal distribution which means only about 0.5% of players received a legendary in their 11th pack.
Got it!
Cool!
