BOOONESTOOOORM!
kibler and brode!! omg
frodan is cool, but i feel Brian is way more inquisitive when he asks questions, while Frodan is like "oh, ya, thats cool"
Who else is hoping that one of the two unrevealed neutral legendaries is the Lich King as a hero card?
If they don't do anything with Arthas as the lich king, something is wrong.
If He is a hero card, all the other hero cards will suck, so I think he will be just a legendary (one of the coolest of all HS I hope)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought they promissed to reveal all the DK cards over this week? Now, it's silently moved to Monday?..
It won't affect me or anyone else in any way, really, but you can't help but think that the way Blizzard handled the reveal schedule and realization this time around was a complete shitshow. And I'm not just talking about the Ticking Abomination blunder. The way they did League of Explorers was by far the best expansion release: "The expansion is coming out in two weeks. Here are all the cards." BOOM! Non-stop hype train all the way to release and beyond. Bring the person who came up with that plan back on.
You are SO wrong. This time it was like the best they did before any expansion. We had new cards every few hours for 2 weeks now. Like literally almost all the time you had something to talk about, to read about, to discuss and think (theorycrafting). Never before we had that. At most we had like 1 card a day and then some stream or reveal date, there we get another pack. It was much more clunky and less consistent. And I'm not saying everything was perfect this time, including "This week we will release all the Death Knights" thing. But still. They improved a LOT.
I thought the general consensus was that theorycrafting with 10-15-20% of cards revealed isn't worth jack?
It may have been done better, I wouldn't know, I only started playing a year ago, but I'm just confused why they don't just release a set of 9 related cards each day fitting a theme, five days a week, for three weeks, and then have a week delay until release. Announce the whole plan, though, ahead of time. Something like,
July 10
"Hey Hearthstone fans! We're going to be releasing our new expansion, Knights of the Frozen Throne, on August 10! And to build up hype, we're planning on having a stream each day, Monday through Friday, at 9 AM in different time zones each day (to allow each region to have a stream at their own mid-morning time slot), where we reveal 9 cards to you wonderful people that will be found in the new expansion!"
And then on the first day, they reveal something like:
Ice Breaker, Brrrloc, Voodoo Hexxer, Cryostasis, Moorabi, Frost Lich Jaina, Ice Walker, Coldwraith, Snowflipper Penguin.
Nine cards; the first five are promoting the new Freeze Shaman archetype, and the last four are continuing the ice theme.
Then you have another day, where you reveal, say, the Divine Shield synergy package:
Bolvar Fireblood, Light's Sorrow, Howling Commander, Desperate Stand, Righteous Protector, Corpsetaker, Corpse Raiser, Shadowblade and Deathspeaker.
The last two are Immune, technically, but still fit the general theme.
With that, Blizzard would be introducing hype by revealing cards that go together and, together, show a possible new deck archetype that players can get hyped about, and will spend hours building decks around, instead of seeing a card like Ice Breaker and going, "Eh. Without some insane synergy, this looks like trash." -- the hype is instantly dead for Ice Breaker, and any further Freeze Shaman card reveals will feel less cool simply because that first introduction wasn't so hot.
However, if Ice Breaker was introduced alongside the other Freeze Shaman cards - right away as a group - then it would've been more immediately exciting, producing a stronger positive feeling about the set - not just that one card - from the start.
Ice Breaker was used as a representative example, not as the only case.
Kanazak A lot of people wait to preorder until after they've seen all the cards. Whether they buy depends on how excited they are by the expansion at that moment. Dropping a huge number of cool cards at the very end all at once has the best chance of achieving that.
As of the gradual leaking, its like a snowball going down the hill. The hype gets gradually but steadily larger and larger until people are really excited going into the grand finale (final huge reveal).
Brode and Kibler? Fantastic.
that kibler guy everywhere is rly boring, he looks like a dad acting as a child for money
He is on of the best non-competitive Hearthstone player. He also won everything during his time at MTG. So fuck off.
Kibler is fantastic. I follow him since MTG and his passion for Hearthstone is intoxicating. One of the best for sure.
