Get 2000 Arcane Dust? Blizzard Makes Up for Pity Timer Bug
Just over a week ago, Blizzard announced that there was an issue which led to some players getting one fewer Epic or Legendary card than they should have from packs. If you were hurt by this bug, you have been sent an email letting you know and 2000 dust has been credited to your account which will let you craft a Legendary card and an Epic card!
No idea what you should craft? You should save it for the upcoming Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion and either spend it on something that looks cool or use it a few days into it once we have a good idea what Legendaries are going to be solid.
No official post has yet been made on the resolution, and it's possible that dust hasn't been finished being distributed. We expect an official response shortly.

Quote from BlizzardGreetings,
Patch 8.4 for Hearthstone introduced new infrastructure to prepare for the recently announced improvements to card drop rates. As a side effect of this change, a small number of players who opened packs after the patch received one fewer Legendary or Epic card than they would have otherwise. We have identified you as one of those players, and we've given you 2000 Arcane Dust to use however you want!
Thank you for your continued support, and we'll see you at the Inn!
Hearthstone Team
Sorry guys, but I don't really get it, is there a minimum number of packs that needs to be opened to understand if you can be eligible for this dust refund? And can the packs be of any expansion?
According to the post, the bug was noticed a week ago (so likely already fixed) Everyone has a secret pity timer, what happened is that some people opened enough packs of a specific set (pity timers are not shared between sets, say you are guaranteed an Un'Goro legendary in 5 packs, that doesn't mean you can open 5 Frozen Throne packs and get a guaranteed legendary. )
So some people hit their pity timers at some point before this week, didn't get their legendary or epic. That's why they get 2000 dust now. But of course, there are enough dumbasses that don't read and think that just because they opened 5 packs yesterday they should have gotten 2k dust.
I open 10 packs in each set .I got 6 legendary one golden & 16 epic two golden
it worth 20.000 dust . and blizzard give you 2000 dust to make you happy.LOL!
don't be salty because you missed the opportunity or ruin it.
If I in your place I will quit the game.
if i were in your place i would get hooked on phonics quick
Troll level platinum.
And i opened 1 gold malygos and got nothing :( i cant even dust it cuz i dont have the original. Because of that 1 free tavern pack i lost 2 k dust
I opened 30 packs from arena before 1 august, and got absolutely nothing, should i get dust? (Can't check atm)
OKAY EVERYONE LISTEN UP!!! for those that say oh i got a bad legendary thats 400 dust and others got 2k dust to craft whatever they want so what! if blizz gave everyone 2k dust then that means the people that were actually effected by the bug got 0 legendaries just the dust but now bcoz you are whining you have your legendary from packs plus 2k dust how is that fair to the other people that were effected by said bug now only have the dust.
Todays people need to stop ONLY thinking about themselves and about the other people as well because believe me if this was the other way around you wouldn't have complained at all... my point is stop being such greedy a..holes you werent effected by the bug so you dont deserve the dust end of it.
Its the same as 2 people buying lotto tickets 1 wins the other doesnt now the guy that did not win is mad at the lotto company bcoz he also bought a ticket why didnt he win... god damn people just be happy for other people some times as well not just yourself
i'm guessing you got the dust...... #dustprivilege
that has nothing to do with it, my entire post is the people that got legendaries from the packs still want the 2k dust but how is that fair to people like myself that opened 50+ ungoro packs and got 0 legendaries?
so they should have legendaries + dust while the ones that had the bug affect them only have dust? am i then allowed to cry like all the other salty players saying mehh where is my legendary bcoz now everyone got dust?? NO
all you see is your privilege.......wake up!!!... something much bigger is going on here....join us....join the revolution.....

not srs but you made me lol so il upvote you heres some greens
Technically speaking you were due a random legendary and a random epic, which if were bad would be 500 dust. Yes? Now, if you were rewarded with either 500 dust or a random legendary and a random epic (assuming you lucked out on both, which is no guarantee) then there wouldn't be a problem. Ah, but you got a specific legendary and a specific epic, regardless of whether you missed a random legendary or an random epic, and given that Blizzard supposedly knew who you were they could just as easily have given you the right reward that you didn't even know you were entitled to. See the difference?
The complaints are not about a percentage of the people getting some dust. It's about how a number of people who do not appear to have been unlucky at all got TWO THOUSAND dust as "compensation". "Heard about Pity Bug, opened a pack or two, got 2000 dust" seems more the order of the day than people saying "yeah, there was a long stretch where I didn't get a legendary". (See DeadApple's comment directly below this one, #341). This throws doubt on the entire affair, and anyone who has been struggling to get average drop rates of late is wondering whether this reward system is just yet more nonsense RNG. After all, the people who went 38 packs before opening a legendary got a legendary (aka 400 dust), but people who opened 1 more pack without a legendary got 5 times the dust value. What about the people who had opened the required number of "missing legendary" packs, only for Blizzard to fix the bug and they then get a legendary - had they opened that pack the previous day and therefore missed the legendary they would have 2000 dust today. That's totally fair, yeah?
In other words, Blizzard screwed up with the Pity Timer AND screwed up with this 2000 dust reward, and that's upset a lot of people. Hard to say whether they will respond.
PS. Don't tell unlucky people how lucky you are, especially when your bad luck turned out to be many times more lucky than their best luck, ever. They might not like to hear about it.
Blizzard screwed up with the bug. You on the other hand screwed up with your argument. Crafting a legandary costs 1600 dust, crafting an epic 400, that's 2000 dust - and that's a fair compensation from Blizzards side. Because one day you can be in need of a legendary you call 400 dust or an epic you call 100 dust, and spend 2000 dust on both, regardless of what you think their price is now. It's like any product you can buy for currency, regardless of your opinion it will cost a defined amount of that currency, if you want to have it, it doesn't matter that you'll sell it for less, you'll still need the whole amount to get it, you may not need it now, but someday you might. It's really unbelivable how there are people trying to convince the whole world something that costs 1600 is really worth 400, even that if you want to have it, regardless of what you may think, you'll still have to pay 1600 for it....
I did not "screw up my argument" - you did that to yours though. Blizzard should have rewarded a random legendary to those who missed a legendary, and a random epic to those who missed an epic (or both if you missed both). That's what the players missed out on. Not 1600+400 dust.
You would not necessarily spend 1600 dust crafting a bad legendary, would you? So if you opened one in a pack you would dust it, so its value to you is 400 dust. It's either "a legendary card" or 400 dust, and since you missed a random card you should get a random card, not the power to craft ANY legendary or ANY FOUR epics with 1600 of your 2000 dust. That's simply over the top for something that people would not normally have been entitled to prior to the Pity Timer. So it's just Blizzard saying "Here have a crazy amount of dust for reasons that have nothing to do with you and you maybe didn't even know about why." How does that work? And never mind the people who supposedly did not even open enough packs to trigger the Pity Timer bug...

Crafting a legendary is 1600 dust, regardless of which legendary you craft. Same for an epic you've got to pay 400 dust. I crafted jungle giants for 1600, because i wanted to try it, and i'm not disenchanting any legendaries save for duplicates, because there's simply a chance i'd like to play a meme deck with it. Furthermore, your argument is invalid, simply because your opinion whether a product is good or bad does not affect the price of that product, as well as the price your'e selling that product for, does not matter if you want to get it from a store and brand new.
The compensation is fair in market terms, and those are the only terms that matter in business, be it games or other things. Of course, Blizzard could make their compensation smaller, could've make it bigger also.
i got no email but received the dust well thanks blizzard, even more since i haven't opened more than 15 packs and in those were 2 legendarys LUL blizzard LUL
I open 10 packs in each set .I got 6 legendary one golden & 16 epic two golden
it worth 20.000 dust . and blizzard give you 2000 dust to make you happy.LOL
