So maybe you pay 4 mana for another mana wyrm?5 mana for another sorcerer's apprentice..?Maybe in some deck archetypes will be useful but doubt it..Let's see!I can't see this card's value right now...
You know you can hold onto this card until you have the desired minion only right?Am i missing something?
Tell me why you would keep your mana wyrm in your hand when you have 4 mana?
I dont understand how this card works. I mean it summons a copy of the lowest cost minion in your hand, it adds to your hand a copy of the lowest cost minion in your hand or it's always a copy of the lowest cost card in your hand (kinda how Shifter Zerus works)?
Yeah, really bad wording.
Its not "Add a copy" like Blood Warriors or "Put a copy" like Echo of Medivh
Its not "Summon a copy" like Molten Reflection
It just says "copy", might as well send it into oblivion afterwards *ben brode laughs*
I believe it says Copy, because you're not copying what's on your board, you're copying what's in your hand. It's kind of assumed that because it states the item that you're copying is already in your hand, and "summon" isn't anywheres in the text. :)
I know it's not summon, i'm just saying it's not clear enough. "Duplicate" seems like the word they should have gone with
For example the lowest cost minion in your hand is Mana Wyrm, so when you play Simulacrum you'll get a copy of that Mana Wyrm to your hand
That's the first thing I noticed too it looks like Blizzard has finally decided that it's O.K. to reuse art from adventures I guess.
Pure Cold glad they used this art for an actually card as its sweet. Sadly the card isn't very good imo.
Oh goodie, now mages can set up Sorcerer's Apprentice and Archmage Antonidas combo with absolutely NO risk period.
So interactive, much fun, very Mage. >.>
Freeze mage your way to turn ten, have Simulacrum copy 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice, Play Archmage Antonidas and Frost Nova. If they can't immediatly kill Archmage then congrats! you just won the game cause infinite Fireball. If you can only manage 3 Apprentices that's okay too, pretty sure 4 1-cost Fireball will be enuff majority of the time.
Play with quest mage for extra salt.
(a) Archmage + frost nova and passing a turn is hardly "no risk" , a single hard removal and your plan is donezo. You need quest or emperor to pull off the OTK with no risk.
(b) You can do the exact same play with molten reflection. Exact, same, play. If that wasn't broken then this isn't broken either.
I didn't say it was an op combo. I'm just saying it's a boring non-interactive combo that's now even easier to achieve. Also, Molten Reflection requires you to have Apprentice on the board and costs more. This is literally just cards sitting in your hand. Only counter to that right now is Dirty Rat and we all know how fun fishing out combo pieces with dirty rat is...
Wouldn't it be easier and more efficient to just do the normal Exodia combo and use two Molten Reflections with Time Warp?
Sorcerer's Apprentice (2 mana), Sorcerer's Apprentice (2 mana), Molten Reflection (2 mana), Molten Reflection (1 mana), Time Warp (1 mana), end turn, Archmage Antonidas into infinite Fireballs.
Much easier and much more safe. I mean, you might still run Simulacrum in that deck to make putting the combo together easier, but I don't see it replacing Molten Reflection itself as an actual combo piece for the archetype.
Now, it would certainly be good if you're running Arcane Giant Quest Mage, and you'd still be running Molten Reflection. Though that version of the deck has to deal with taunt and doesn't have infinite damage potential.
Step 1: Copy 2 Sorcerer's Apprentices
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Win the game
Then again, this is probably better for the Arcane Giant variant, since you get 4 8/8's on the board in a single turn instead of the normal 2 you'd have without Simulacrum.
Molten still better for Quest Mage in Standard
since second Molten Reflection cost 1
but this cost 3 in earlier turn and 2 in combo turn
and I dont know if it's a good idea to have more combo piece in deck
because most of the time it's just a dead card (when I play giant Quest I have 3 giant turn 4 I cant win that game because I can do nothing but stare at these *&%*@#%$ Giants)
And Molten Reflection would not copy ur doomsayer
