I hate this card and everything it stands for. Sure, overall unless you pull off some stupid Wild combos with Brann Bronzebeard and Emperor Thaurissan, it isn't actually that powerful, but that's not the point. Your opponent being able to destroy key cards from your deck at random, with no planning (unlike Dirty Rat, for example) is unfun.
If you're playing a combo deck against a Warlock, do you just hold combo pieces in your mulligan and pray they don't play it and kill the last piece you need? What about lategame decks that rely on one or two cards for the finish, that get randomly screwed over? Again, I know the card itself isn't exactly that powerful, but it will feel awful to play against, and that is bad design.
Hey, my 2 cents in this card and your opinion.
Blizzard is trying to currently balance the meta. You said it is Unfun.. You think people who play for thousands of euros share the similar option? Just because some people run Yogg in their deck's doesn't mean they find it fun.. They want to play cards like that it is a Tech Card not a Fun Card. Yogg is a fun card :)
You people are exaggerating. Even in decks made around certain cards like secret paladin, its still a 3% (6% - you use 2 mysterious challengers) to delete that card. And still you can carry on with the game
I wonder if the Legendary warlock card will have a similar effect with the discover mechanic (i.e. discover a card in the opponents deck and remove it).
Solid body early game, repeated uses should get something important (nothing like hitting Yogg on a good day)
First they say that messing with your opponent's deck\hand doesn't feel right (that's why some cards have got changed since early versions, like Thoughtsteal, which actually used to draw cards from your opponent's deck), and then they release this thing... What for? This card is pretty useless itself, you can only use it to mess with your opponent's combos and core cards. Sometimes it will remove useless 1-drop, other times it will win you a game, and there is no way controlling it's effect. Do we really need cards like this?
Can't wait for my turn two wins on opponent's concede because of losing his key card/combo piece.
How does "remove" differ from "discard"?
What a wondrous creation blizzard!
Remove Alexstrasza, Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Pyroblast...
Gnomish Vampire is gonna be bouncing a shit ton with brewmasters.
Thats child abuse
The answer is to just play any deck not entirely built around 1 card or a lengthy combo. Do you think pirate warrior cares when you remove a random card off the top? Even if you destroy a tirion or tarim in paladin, they could potentially generate more or rely on other mid game threats. This card only really affects combo decks and even then, how many games are you going to burn a random utility card like ice barrier, earthen scales or backstab instead of Alexstrazsa or Antonidas or gadgetzan auctioneer or their last Jade idol?
The card is pretty aggressively statted so we'll probably see it but in a lot of matches you're literally playing river crocolisk.
This would be more meaningful as a rogue card, and that's probably why it's not.
When discarding Tirion Fordring
" I greet you..."
