''Hearthstone Balance Team (2014): We are changing Illidan Stormrage due to interaction with discarding opponents cards are unfun & uninteractive mechanic ''
HS never was interactive.
If this said, "Destroys the card at the bottom of your deck," 99% of people would not care about it.
Where are the demon cards that actually do not suck? I want to use some unique demons those that belong to the Burning Legion. Is that too much to ask?
I know this isn't a demon. I just want some demon cards for warlock.
Aaaand this card is just stupid design.
Imagine the upcoming Youtube Videos with destroyed keycards, complete with Nat's phrase "Ha! Caught one!" everytime a card gets removed.
Ha ha ha! :))
Most of you are completely overreacting and have no idea about concepts of probabilities and stochastics.
The ONLY real impact it has, is against combo decks that aim to draw the whole deck or run into fatigue.
Otherwise, it does not make any difference whatsoever. (It's as if the card that was destroyed, happened to be at the bottom of the deck, which is also completely random.)
''It does not make any difference whatsoever'' Are you new to hs? The fact that you have chance to loose your win condition (Be it aoe against aggro, removal against minions, heal, etc etc) is the deffinition of overpowered. Especially when you can't even play around this bugger.
I don't know about the practise mode cards you are playing against but every single deck in ranked has key cards that you do not want to loose simply because your opponent played a 2 mana vanilla stat card.
I appreciate the point you're making, but I think you're looking at the issue too mathematically. If we assume that the game doesn't go to fatigue, then you're right that this seems very similar to simple bad luck where the card you needed was never drawn.
However, in this case you'll see the card you needed destroyed at the hands of the Gnomish Vampire's battlecry, and that has a negative impact on your enjoyment of the game that bad luck simply doesn't. You'll feel like you could have won, but for this one card effect.
There are many control oriented decks that rely on eventually drawing some key card: C'Thun, Kazakus, Alexstrasza and others. In many control decks each card has a key purpose and in the most challenging and interesting games the whole deck is drawn. You play until you lose or play your win condition(s), even if it's the last card drawn.
If your deck is aimed at out-valuing your opponent this removes a lot from your value, and your opponent can play it whenever it suits him, since the effect is random and doesn't affect the board. It's like vanilla stats with the card text: "Get a random reward ranging from nothing to winning the game." And there's no way to play around this card (except for Dirty Rat...).
It also changes the way you feel about the game if you may still draw a certain card as opposed to it getting destroyed.
There is a certain type of player who loves that type of combo deck which is affected by this card. Previously it was: survive until you get to play your combo or you out-value your opponent. You built your deck exactly for that. From now on it will be: survive until you get to play your combo or you out-value your opponent, unless you lose your win-condition to the random effect of a 2-mana minion.
This has potential to stir a shitstorm like Yogg did.
Even with the priest card (that doesnt work in this case too) it would be 1 o 9 classes
i don't like cards which counters my favourite hemet decks.
the concept is " if we discard a card you should too "
Reminder that burning cards when you're on a full hand is essentially the same as having a card removed from your deck. This card has way less combo potential than Coldlight Oracle, is a Warlock card and destroys way less of your deck compared to a proper mill deck in Hearthstone. This card isn't broken or unfair because if you're playing a combo deck, you get destroyed by forced draw anyway, which is actually more effective if your opponent is looking to specifically disrupt combo.
Disguised toast quest mage: Molten Reflection x2, Sorcerer's Apprentice x2, Archmage Antonidas
5/30, but if you count the mulligan, chances of destroying these are even higher. If you keep these cards as mulligan you cant stall
Rip disguised toast quest mage
If almost all the cards in someone's deck are so vital, then removing any one of them just basically gives them the next one.
Unless things go to fatigue, removing the top card from someone's deck is the same as putting it on the bottom (where it will not be drawn anyway), or in other words - reshuffling his deck. If the deck was randomized to begin with, it is equal to no effect. This card does nothing but show information about one card that will not be played this game.
atleast she's cute.
Such an unfair and uninteractive card
Unlike many other cards, this is the definition of interactive.
