Guess what? I'm running Arcanologist in my control mage deck only because of Ice Block and it works like a charm.
But you can have more than one ice block in your deck, also most people play arcanologist with 3-4 secrets in their deck. :)
You can just use that logic the other way, though. If yyou don't want to be dependant on one card, just put in Burnbristle and/or some other divine shield-card. It would surprise me if they didn't print another decent minion with divine shield if that is the entire Paladin-theme for the expansion.
Actually my point was that to rely on 1 card draw only is nonsense. What if you draw it before you have this - it's 50:50... But the logic is not so funny that nerdy comment what doesn't make sense in reality. The relation ship with ice block is not relevant. Because ice block you can play on curve in the best case, Tirion very hardly, hm? Nevermind...
You can include it in a Paladin deck running only Tirrion. Or in a divine shield deck, which seems to be pushed by Blizz this expansion. Either way looks sweet and wonder how Paladin will turn out this patch.
Failure as every Blizzard atempt to make a Paladin archtype with below average cards. 3 mana 2-2 ... nope, try again next expansion.
Perhaps control Pally will survive doe, still looks like a strong deck althouhgt I don't see what we can add to it so far from this expansion.
This should have been 2 mana.
None of the current Paladins will play this card:
- Aggro Paladin has Divine Favor which draws them on average more cards.
- Midrange Paladin doesn't need early card draw, they just curve out and a 2/2 is not a tempo play.
- Control Paladin will not cut Acolyte for this card which draws them on average 2 cards.
And none of the paladins will cut Stonehill Defender. So I can look at any Paladin deck I want there is no need or no space for this card. :-/
// Edit: If you already down vote this post explain at least in what deck you want to put it and what card you want to cut. With the current informations we have now this card is not good.
Sorry to say but this down voting is stupid.
If a card is bad is bad, nothing you can do about it .
I'm still waiting for some real good cards like Tarim or glyph level good . So far only corpse taker seems nice to me .
Your base argument is that the card won't fit into any current decks therefor it's not good. That by it'self already makes you wrong.
"bad" like the pre-nerf caverns below was or how pathces the pirate was "bad"? look, you thinking that deck thinning is not a a powerful thing really shows that you are a complete noob at card games, the downvotes are because of that, veteran players know how powerful deck thinning and tutoritng is because most of us come from oher card games where we used to place highly in tournaments,, as for Tutoring and deck thinning, which is what this card does, it adds consistency to the decks and avoids dead draws in the late game, plus being able to tutor something specific is amazing wen you have an stategy about what you tutor...so yes, there are veteran experienced players downvoting you because your comment spans from your total noob mindset....that's why instead of downvoting i took time to explain, i honestly think we should guide the lesser players, so that they could become good in the future.
You do know why stonehill defender is played in paladin, right? It's because you have a chance at getting Tirion. Now take the word chance and change it to always. That's what the card your calling bad does.
Also this whole "nothing I could get can be played on curve." bs that you're spouting makes any sense. That's what we call a control deck. Control decks don't need to play on curve.
Yes, if you throw out all other divine shield minions. Otherwise it is "Get a 3, 5 or 8 drop on turn 3". Also a 2nd Tirion is ten times better than your own Tirion.
Still trying to base the value of new cards on whether or not they fit into currently existing decks.
When a Commander howls your only choice is to put ur faith in the light *epic summon music theme*
