Pirate Warrior getting buffed...
You're wrong on so many level and you probably don't even realise it.
Edit: just noticed that she wrote PIRATE warrior and not Patron... so what i wrote here missed the point.
Turn 2 Fiery War Axe (or any other 2 drop that gives you the board)
Turn 3 Acolyte of Pain or Frothing Berserker
Turn 4 Blood Razor and attack with it (thats 3 damage with the battlecry)
Turn 5 Grim Patron + Inner Rage + attack to deathrattle
That could be one big Frothing Berserker ... but you're somehow right, because besides the possibleAcolyte of Pain draw and the "1 to all on board" that could in theory also kill something from the enemy... it does the same thing as Death's Bite (1 damage area damage).
The question is... is it maybe better on turn 9?
Grim Patron + Inner Rage and Blood Razor to replace the Whirlwind ?
It comes one turn later, but it give you a weapon and you can maybe trigger a second wave?!?
It can be true to some extent, but pirate warrior cannot run too many weapons or he'll just sit with a bunch of them in the hand. Arathi Weaponsmith, for example, is also a decent card for PW (3/3 body and 2/2 weapon for the same 4 mana) but it saw some play only in f2p versions of the deck.
But you ARE wrong.
Absolutely no aggressive PW would run a 4 mana 2/2 weapon, the battlecry will hardly clear the board on turn 4 against tokens unless you were fighting for board early on, and thats hardly the play style for the deck. If you want the deathrattle to be the actual board clear, you wont be able to buff the weapon and get more durability, so you lose a LOT of tempo and face damage.
By the time you finished clearing the board with this weapon, you opponent will still be healthy and the match will most likely go downhill for you if you start the brainless pounding afterwards.
A midrange PW could try this weapon, but I honestly have no problems with a deck like that, after all, no cancer means a healthy meta
True, I admit.
So this is a battlecry:Deal 4 damage 2 times(most likely minions)and 2 damage to all other minions.(taking in consideration that it will see play in a Control warrior deck).I dont know about you guys but this looks like a slower, but better death's bite.
eh battlecry whirlwind effect I think is way stronger than 1 attack and is somewhere in between 1 and 2.
I mean if you think about it this weapon is dealing 3 damage on the turn it is played and if you make it a 3/2 you just have a better Death's Bite I say as it will deal 4 damage on its turn being at death bite level and then only 1 damage down on the next turn. For better comparison
Deathbite 1st: 4 damage single
2nd: 4 damage single/aoe
total: 9 single, 1 to rest
Blood Razor 1st: 3 damage single/aoe
2nd: 3 damage single/aoe
total: 6 single, 2 to rest
So it is weaker yes on the single target front however it makes up very well on its aoe front being able to push its damage up past deathbite with just 3 minions on board.
Then it lets you get all the friendly minion damage synergy like with acolyte and it uses battlecry which is stronger than deathrattle as the opponent can't react to it like they could with a death bite.
I think this card is is on par with death bite and may even be stronger than it with just how good its aoe can be.
That all being said however, the first whirlwind does weaken the second as you will clear minions off with the first so that should be taken into account.
It's the battlecry that makes this card so much stronger, though. It's basically like two mini-swipes in one, in a class that benefits from whirlwind effects.
Great addition, revenge of Death's Bite. In my opinion will be solid in standard and great in Arena. Hope more good will come to make Warrior at least barely playable in Arena.
This card is meta-defining.
im reading all the comments on this card is "decent" and "might see play". The only ones that must be saying that are either people who have never played CW when Death's bite was around or the Fact they dont play Warrior at all and underestimate card power levels. for someone Who has most of their time playing CW since the time Nax And GvG Came out, i can tell you that this card is insane powerful and will define how warrior is for the remaining part of the standard meta. Death's bite was overlooked at first too back in the days of nax and it became the 2 of in every single CW list ever until it went away. This weapon has so many angles that could be used for it that its mind blowing. ill go over the first few
This + turn 3 ghoul
this + turn 3 Acolyte
This + King Mosh ( yes king mosh might actually start Seeing more play because of this.)
This + sleep with the Fishes
This + turn 3 Frothing Beserker (OMG)
it blows my mind how powerful this will be. Now obviously We havent seen all the Cards yet, but i feel this will be a 2 of in everything that isnt pirates. just to point out guys, the 2/2 stats dont matter all that much because its technically a 3/2 for 4 that deals 1 to everything TWICE. I cant Wait to play with this card and destory anything Aggro, cause honestly...how does paladin beat this AND Ghoul.
This card is solid playable card. Extra whirlwind effect and a way to get it out of hand but keep it for when needed. Can be used as spot removal when needed. Easier way to setup a sleep with the fishes is probably the most obvious use at this point.
the 2 attack points seem a little low but I guess 3 might actually be to high. tough one to judge but aoe effects tend to make it into the meta so I am curious to see what will happen
Looking forward to trying this in my giants deck. An extra whirlwind effect is just the card I was after :)
Not sure if it will see any play in aggro decks but combo decks will make good use of it for sure.
Reminds me of Death's Bite, might be even better against all the token decks.
From first sight - nothing special, but my gut tells it could be great.
