Pity Timer Bug Confirmed - To Be Fixed this Week
Molly dropped a note on the forums this weekend that they have confirmed some players have received one fewer Epic or Legendary card than they should have.
- The bug should be fixed next week.
- A resolution for affected players will happen within the next few weeks. If you were one of them, you'll be contacted.
Quote from MollyHearthstone Patch 8.4 introduced new infrastructure to prepare for the recently announced improvements to card drop rates. An unexpected side effect of this change was that a small number of players who opened packs after the patch received one fewer Legendary or Epic card than they would have otherwise. We've identified the issue and expect it to be resolved next week. It's important to us that Hearthstone players feel great about opening card packs and we apologize for this issue and any disappointment that it may have caused. We will be reaching out to all affected players in the next few weeks with details regarding our resolution plan.
It's not mathematically proven, it's favored via statistical evidence. There's a pretty big difference. Only in mathematics can you ever "prove" anything.
last expention you could only get 40g quest by "accident"...
I mean, they did confirm the bug. That's the point of the announcement. Also, I don't think you have a good grasp of statistics or the problems of dealing with big data if you can't conceive of them not noticing the problem.
I waited with all my packs as well. But I read a lot of posts about it.
With how often people complain about it not working and it's not the case, you can't really blame people for not believing you about the pity timer not working.
Blizzard collects all sorts of statistics, I would be shocked if they weren't tracking pack opening behaviour. Be nice to see some of those statistics in-game, actually.
Yeap. If they confirmed Pity Timer's existence already, why not make more interesting? If I see, I'm having 2 packs to 40 - guaranteed legendary - I'll buy them on the spot.
And if you're 39 packs to 40 you'd be less likely to.
Wow, you are arrogant. How about this: I don't buy any packs - only the PreOrder of any expansion. But I play a LOT of arena. And there you get packs one at a time. Should I write down my legendaries? Even then I'm not at home, playing on my phone? Isn't it much easier to show me on the screen, when the legendary is coming?
P.S. Don't be a dick. IT's not cool.
I opened so many packs and didnt get a single legendary, while my friend besides got 5 legendaries and 1 golden leg...
didn't open a single pack since the announcement of the change so yeah..
High hope on this resolution plan
I think I might've been affected by this with Un'Goro packs I purchased during the Crater promotion, and then with gold and the Shanghai packs after the fact. I received The Voraxx (he speaks for the memes) at the very beginning of the mass pack opening, but I'm not sure if I hit the pity timer after that. I guess I'll wait and see.
I was starting to question my counting capabilities. Opened the first legendary at the 42nd Old Gods pack.
Where in this post confirms the existence of a pity timer? i dont see it...im not saying its not real, i just always question references
you know of something called google, right? then use it
Didn't they specifically say at one point that you can't go over 40 packs without a legendary though? Think it was because of China's new rules and all.
