Weird, I did get credited correctly when I had it on the receiving end a couple of days ago. The thing did say 80, but I noticed it increased my balance by 160.

In short, Although there is no message saying that you received 160 gold, you get 160 gold instead of 80 in your balance

I just traded the quest, and when I got their quest it said 80g, but I got 160g. When I did my quest, it said 160g, and was 160g. 320g total.

1. One, about the usual 80 g upon quest completion, that we also got before the fire festival
2. Another one, added with the recent fix to the bug, about another 80 from outside the game (so to confirm that the total is indeed 80+80=160g).

Since I received msg#1 but not msg#2, it seems legitimate to wonder whether the 2nd 80g was added (and when) or not.

Unfortunately, I can't confirm nor disprove receiving 160 g total because it happened to me before reading this article, and also after other people had posted, in other threads, that 80 g only to the receiving end were "normal", even during fire festival, so wasn't paying that much attention to my balance.

But even if I DID receive those 160 g, overall it didn't work as announced in the Blizz blue post by Keganbe, at least in my case.

Does this make me stupid, just for noting this discrepancy? I think not.

But if you and the other who downvoted feel so clever, have it your way.

I just thought this community was better than this.

No, im' afraid it's you who don't read all the text. And I'm talking about the blue post from Blizzard itself, reported in this piece of news, not the introductory comment by Fluxflashor you quoted.

Friends that only received 80 gold from the “Play a Friend!” Quest rather than the intended 160 gold for the Midsummer Fire Festival event will receive their missing 80 gold. A pop-up will appear in-game that will notify the affected players that 80 gold has been added from outside the game.

This means that ANY people who do the quest BEFORE blizzard patch it, will see a pop up notifying the user has received 80 gold. but it doesn't say nothing that you will see an extra pop up if you do the quest AFTER the patch.

For those who did the quest after the patch:

Please note that the UI will still display that 80 gold has been awarded to the challenged friend, but the awarded gold will correctly be 160 gold. We apologize that we are unable to adjust the UI at this time.

This mean that you ONLY see a pop-up telling you got awarded 80 gold, only one, but again, it doesn't say nothing that you wil see 2 pop-ups, it says that your balance got 160 in place of 80. The extra pop-up is ONLY for those who did the quest BEFORE the patch.

But if you think you didn't recieve your 80 gold, and you are elegible, maybe you can submit a support ticket and get an official response: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help

Managed to get the friend quest on all 3 servers today, crazy.

I was surprised why I got 80g "login" reward today, now I know. Thumps up Blizzard!
