ALL Wild Hearthstone Sets are Returning
Old card sets are returning for purchase once more! Finally, newer players can play through the awesome Naxxramas and Blackrock Mountain adventures and experience Mechs en masse!
- Sets will be purchasable through the Battle.net website, not the in-game store.
- Likely only real life currency and not gold as the Battle.net website doesn't allow for gold purchases at this time.
- This will be extra awesome with the guaranteed no dupe Legendaries.
The sets that will be returning are:
- Curse of Naxxramas
- Goblins vs Gnomes
- Blackrock Mountain
- The Grand Tournament
- The League of Explorers
This announcement breaks an hour before the Hearthstone Wild Open begins.
Quote from BlizzardIf you yearn to return to the Wild, we have some good news for you!
In the coming weeks, ALL Wild sets—including Expansions and Adventures—will once again become available for purchase* on the Blizzard Shop at https://battle.net/shop/product/game/hearthstone!
The Wild calls to some. Maybe it’s the limitless potential of building a deck with any card at all. Perhaps it’s the allure of truly disgusting combos that were never meant to be. Some have never experienced Kel’thuzad’s legendary snark first-hand, or felt the searing heat of Blackrock Mountain (♪ a Hearthstone Adventure ♫)!
Whatever calls to you, get a taste of it by catching the Hearthstone Wild Open this weekend! Brush up on those survival skills by watching some of Wild’s finest players square off in the first official Wild tournament!
The quarterfinals begin today, July 1 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Catch the semifinals and finals tomorrow, July 2, also starting at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
Watch the Wild action unfold on the official Hearthstone Twitch channel.
*Products will be available for purchase at regular price.
Its about TIME!! They got my money$$$$$.
Just so everyone understands, having more in the in-game shop makes the mobile app heavier. People who play on their phone have been wanting it lighter. Having the ability to purchase content is available. It shouldn't matter where it's hosted. It benefits the mobile players more, so having the older content available online instead of available within the game is a plus.
When does this go live?
Same I have been waiting eagerly I want Naxx and GVG now!
id guess probably either right at the end of the "midsummer fire festival" or on the 24th when they are begining card reveals again
Has anybody seen this live? I can't access wild packs yet.
Same here, I hope I don't miss it. I really want to try the old adventures :(
When you crafted two golden Ice Lances right before they got retired, and now more people will start playing Wild.
or even when you have all golden hall of fame pieces
Yes, yesssss. I like this change. I have all the old school cards and I prefer Wild to Standard anyway.
It's like playing Modern in MtG. There's just more variety.
"Likely only real life currency" sounds funny. What do you mean, "likely", Blizzard? What are the factors that would result in an addition to gold currency purchases? I believe there are none. And I believe that "likely" is Blizzard's newest victim.
Likely™ equals certainty. Certainty beyond any imaginable doubt.
I think the likely part was added by hearthpwn. Blizzard's official statement is just what's in blue.
That's actually true and I'm a douche. Thanks for pointing that out!
It was just stupid nevermind if the wild sets come back or not. Sorry
Was just talking with my friend about this. But why would you pay the full price for OLD adventures...
It's not that I can't afford it, but it is that I don't want to pay full price for old cards that can ONLY be used in Wild.
Just make a bundle of adventures or sell them for around $10,-. It's not that there is any devellopment of cards needed to reintroduce them.
anyone know when this could be out? sorry if someone asked this if someone did i did not see it
Step 1:
- We'll rise taxes a 10%.
- Damn corrupts!!
Step 2 (a year later):
- We'll lower taxes a 2%.
- Oh, you are so kind!! 100% vote again!!
I'm one of those who cannot understand about people complaining about new content/choices/possibilities/whatever, but this "new" choice exposed the reasoning behind retiring old adventures and expansions when Wild format is available.
People have all rights to complain about this milking strategy in a F2P game. I don't, because I don't really care, but guys, it's naive, if not stupid, to claim that this new "choice" is a helpful update born from kindness.
People complain about not being able to access old content.
They make old content available for purchase for those who want it.
Now people are complaining that Blizzard is trying to milk money from us.
Make up your mind, Hearthstone community...
you can always want more. I am pleased with the news but it would be better if we could use in game gold. Again, I am pleasded with the news.
