Nerf Announcement
Quote from KeganbeIn an upcoming update, we will be making a balance change to the Rogue card: The Caverns Below.
The Caverns Below now reads: Quest: Play five minions with the same name. Reward: Crystal Core.
Since the release of Journey to Un'Goro, Hearthstone has enjoyed a wider variety of competitively viable classes and decks than ever before. We’ve been monitoring overall gameplay, and we’ve decided that—even though everything is varied and many decks are viable—a change to The Caverns Below is still warranted.
The Caverns Below is uniquely powerful versus several slower, control-oriented decks and played often enough that it’s pushing those decks out of play. This change should help expand the deck options available to players both now and after the release of the next expansion.

It is really interesting that 30% think this is a bad change.... maybe because they think it is too little...?!!?!?!
It's a bad change because it's a huge buff to Jade Druid - the most boring, anti-fun deck in the game.
Where's the firefly nerf? It needs to be a 1/1. And the hunter quest buff? =D
I've got a good question for Ben and Mike: will we be seeing more nerfs to other problematic cards like Primoridial Glyph, Vicious Fledging, or Fire Fly among other cards?
Fire Fly is perfectly fine. It is an activator for Elemental decks, which are not popular anyway. It's problematic only in Quest Rogue, but with the nerf it should not be as powerful.
Fledging is problematic only because of Windfury triggers in the same turn. They should just change that (i.e. to trigger on the turn after you chose it, and not the same turn).
Glyph is on the edge of being too OP. Perhaps if it's 3 mana it will still be viable and powerful enough.
I'll take it.. having an extra turn or two can really even the match vs quest rogue. ty for finally doing this
Barely a nerf
Haha, I literally finally caved two days ago and crafted this golden, not a fan so will be sweet to get a full refund. :D
Great news! Control players rejoice and dust off your control decks! (or dust up haha) Here's a fun Ramp Druid to consider that actually can get through the early stages of the aggro cancer meta.....whaaaaaaa????? :) \o/ \o/ \o/

well FINALLY they do something about it but i doubt it will be enough .. was hoping they nerf the actual minion strengh like make it 5/3 or even just buff the attack to 5 so boardclears would work again..
I'd generally would be okay with waiting for a buff to a specific deck (like questwarlock) in the next expansion, when they can release more cards to make it viable. An example would be purify priest, a card that was laughed at at first but got some love and repsect with later expansions. Granted it isnt a T1 deck currently but who knows what comes this year along for it?
Nerfing the rogue quest seems fine for me, and even if they think later it needs a buff: just create some synergy in the next expansion (or the one after)
Free 3200 dust.
yeah, i totally agree. Rogues can prep this quest way too ez. If its cost 8 mana the can't prep it for 2 mana
I think a more viable nerf would've been increasing the mana cost of crystal core, or decreasing the health of the minions once the quest activates. 5 minions minions to satisfy the quest might be too much.
You have to nerf EVERY SINGLE COMBO DECK right? Even the ones that don't have a very high winrate, but it's combo! Fun to play and requires very high skill to pilot, we cannot have that!
Fun to play but not fun to play against IT.I play a lot of wild lately with reno mage and i usually concede If they play quest rogue. That shitty deck is more annoying than jade druid.Again IT IS NOT OP BUT VERY UNFUN TO PLAY AGAINST IT.AND IF YOU TELL ME TO PLAY AGGRO TO BEAT IT YOU DONT DESERVE THE RANK YOU REACHED
sorry, but... bs, that deck is not hard to play and is out of character for rogue ... rogues playing "pig" how do you sneak around with a pig?
It's not hard to beat it in wild, there are lot of tools in that format.
c
And if you say it requres no skill then you are just stupid as well, there is no going around it. People who have no knowledge on high level play (not watching xy play on twitch, they them selfes doing it) shouldn't even go into this conversation.
Not fun to play agains? I can understand that, but you can explain every archetype why it is unfun, and this shouldn't be the measure.
