Deck Spotlight: Sequinox's 68% Win Rate Horror Priest
How do you deal with the swarms of aggro on the ladder? Control Priest! How do you do it? Shadow Word: Horror!
Today we're checking out a variant on Control Priest from Sequinox which makes use of Shadow Word: Horror, among other things, to counter any aggression you may encounter out there on the ladder.
- Control the board using your stacks on stacks of spells until the late game.
- You've got several large minions that can quickly take your opponent's health down.
- Medivh, the Guardian is here to give you insane drops with Mind Control.
- Elise the Trailblazer helps you get some extra fun into your hand.
- Has some issues against Pirates - be warned!
You'll be set back 9380 dust if you take this route of Priest, but have no fear because where there is darkness, there is also light. Check out the deck below and good luck out there!

Deck Gameplay
You can find some gameplay of the deck from Sequinox himself.
I do not have harrison jones, unfortunately
did not have very good results
Did anyone watch the video? He loses around 5 of the first 6 games... not very convincing
He lost 31 and won 65 games.
How hard is to understand that?
I'm talking specifically about the video in which he starts out ~ 1/5.
How hard is that to understand?
Interesting deck. If I wanted to add Yogg what would I want to replace for him?
Was short a Curious Glimmerroot so I added a Wild Pyromancer, and have to say it works just as good (if not better.)
Great control deck and good job.
With a deck so spell heavy, why not include Lyra (remove a glimmeroot) ?
Yea i think that's a nice replacement too, you get an extra win condition
needs more memes
LoL. what a deck
I used Shadow Word: Horror with good results from the very day it came out, the card is very solid vs aggro and token crap and ofc now that there is more of it, the card starts to get some traction. Its good it does, its very solid card and it deserves the appreciation :)
At least this deck seems fun..I'm gonna try it for sure!
Beats basically anything aggressive, but gets completely annihilated by Jade Druid and Quest Rogue. (also has a hard time against Quest Warrior)
And then they play a bunch of other 5/5's which they got from Fire Fly, Swashburglar, Ignious Elemental and Mimic Pot :P
and then first dragon potion.
and after the third wave the other dragon potion, and GG Quest Rouge
I dragon fire potioned a quest rogue's board 4 turns in a row as dragon priest after I pulled two extra dragon fire potions from shadow visions. Shadow visions is amazing, it actually makes divine spirit and inner fire viable.
'and then first Dragon Potion'
- and then right after you die to charge damage... The matchup might be win-able but it's not favored or good that's for sure.
Is Harrison Jones worth crafting for this deck?
