SMORc to win, lol.
Poor Kolento :/
Winning hearthstone tournament = win lottery. All you need is top deck value

Just such a pity to see braindead agro decks rampage to a win in the final. Kolento played brilliantly. I enjoyed the semi final much more than the final.
One big reason for the rise of aggro is the oh-so-lovable Quest Rogue. You are favored to win anyone who has it in their line-up by having an all aggro line-up. It's certainly not an optimal situation, for viewers or players.
My favorite match (or at least the most memorable one) was the fifth and deciding game of FibEli3 vs Hoej. That one was intense. For those interested, it begins at 3:39:00 of the Day 2 VoD.
And thanks to the way Standard works and because Quest Rogue was introduced at the first new expansion of 2017, we are stuck with this meta for a full 2 years. Because, as Kibler nicely explained in his Omni/ video, NOTHING counters Quest Rogue except an entire deck - an Aggro deck, at that. No tech, no AoE, nothing. Only "kill them before they kill you".
So unless Blizz decides to nerf this quest - fat chance of that happening - it will be two full years of aggro meta. Yeah great huh?
To a certain extent yes :)
But one could argue that that is not Tech, but still "an entire Deck" ;)
If it eases your pain I thoroughly agree, FibEli played extremely well. There's nothing he could have done better in that match. Sometimes the right decisions just don't get rewarded.
What is the problem with aggro decks? Or with quest rogue? Take those decks out and we are back to the "midrange shaman" meta (post Yogg nerf) where a midrange deck rise to rule them all since nothing keeps it in check. I am pretty sure nobody wants that...
I have never enjoyed the meta so much, every day I queue up a different deck and I have fun!! I even filled up the 18 deck slots with playable decks :o
Yesterday I went up to rank1 with secret mage on a streak from rank4, and then started loosing to aggro druid (apparently they were more frequent at rank1, or maybe it was a bad streak). Instead of complain on hearthpwn about it, I switched to taunt warrior and reached legend on another streak crushing those druids. Had I queued up to many quest rogues I would have switched to aggro druid. Many taunt warriors? Paladin it is!
Guys, stop complaining about the best and most enjoyable meta ever! :)
I decided to watch players live and visited Kiev Cyber Sport Arena for the first time in my life and I have following impressions:
I arrived around 12:50 local time just before play-off. So I was excited, but to my disappointment I could't see Ukrainian players or commentators at all.
There is was just a big screen with twitch transmission and voice of Russian commentators, but the same I could watch at home.
In fact when Iner and Neirea played desicive game Russian transmision broke and I finished to watch the English transmision from my smartphone.
I wanted to but at least some merchandising with hearthstone logo. Well the local shop had only one hearthstone light-up keychain and shop accepted only payments with a cash...
So I was really disappointed with such organization and left without waiting final results.
In July I will be in China for some business. I hope it will be organized much better for the spectators, but still not so sure that I want to visit any Hearthstone event.
P.S. I am really happy for Neirea. Qualify two times in row at such RNG game gives him lots of respect.
