Discuss This Week's Brawl
Head on over to our Brawl Forums to discuss this week's brawl in the dedicated forum thread.
One of the best brawls indeed. I always love the brawls where I don't need to make a deck, but this one is much more better because I could play quests like Awaken the Makers, Last Kaleidosaur or Lakkari Sacrifice what I don't want to craft but I wanted to try at least few times :-) More brawls like that!
Made an account just to say how much I love this brawl. Played the brawl about 25 times and have 17 wins total. I think it really shows that even the decks which don't see play do especially well sometimes.
Even for Paladin whose quest isn't fantastic if you mulligan well and have some luck you can get Galvadon by turn 5-6 with all the 1-cost buffs and Primalfin Champion (3 1-cost buffs is enough to guarantee a Galvadon) and you just pick +3 attack stealth and windfury (which makes the deck rather aggro)
As for druid, if you hard mulligan for Menagerie Warden and a Stranglethorn Tiger get lucky drawing Shellshifter you can finish the quest by turn 7-8, and then playing Nourish or The Curator to get Alexstrasza for a fast win feels great. At least 5 of my wins were with druid haha.
Although I completely agree Lakkari Sacrifice isn't that great. Unless you get lucky with discards you are bound to lose. But overall I think this brawl is really fun and it makes me ask why these decks which actually do decent are not seeing play in ranked. I know part of it is that the brawl meta is different from ranked meta but I really want to try playing these decks in ranked (but can't because I'm f2p and will never have that many legendaries to try them out in ranked)
the rogue deck is utter shit
So has anyone seen Druid or Warlock win other than in mirrors or vs each other? I've utterly stomped them every time I've encountered one.
I've yet to see either of their quests win a game in constructed, either. In fact, I've never seen either the portal or Barnabus do anything but hit the board, make some noise, and then stand there idly as their owner got lethaled the next turn. How did Blizzard screw up the quest balance so badly?
If rogue gets bad draw warlock wins cause they have the tars.
I won sometimes with warlock quest in standard the first week or so, but I'll be honest it wasn't often even though once i managed to activate the quest in most cases i eventually won out the board and then could push face if they didn't concede. I think we'll need to wait for the next adventure (whoops, expansion, better pull out 4 or 5 times as much as I expected to spend) to see what sort of cards may help out the quest warlock. Not only discard cards or effects, but other cards to help them stall while keeping things in the hand until they can pop the quest. Maybe somebody will come up with something byt hen, but not with the current decks out there.
Hunter is THE BEAST again!
Hunter is my favourite class so this brawl made me very happy :D
I am so sick of huntards that I decided i will rope every huntard that I see all day today. So I will be spending half the time to most of the time playing today pretty much catching up on tv and roping huntards until they find god and change their ways
I love this brawl, after having played all of the classes, hunter is by far the most powerful. ~90% winrate, the couple losses I do have were mostly from misclicks/misplays or not getting draws.
Thanks for showing how utterly garbage the Discardlock deck is. I went 1-6 with the only win being against another Warlock. I then gave up on my Warlock wins quest.
Nice brawl this week
This brawl really highlights what utter dogshit Lakkari Sacrifice is.
Yeah, even the Quest Rogue of Blizz is so bad stil can beat the Warlock's one.
@Gerbid , you just gave me a potentially brilliant idea.
Thank you in advance if it works.
This brawl convinced me to craft the warrior quest. I love the chill playstyle and I was undefeated during my 9 runs.
I agree, just from playing quest rouge in the tavern brawl it can be pretty inconsistent. If you can't set up early or are close and then the card gets destroyed because you don't have the card(s) to bring it back then you're pretty much screwed. It's good, but it has it's flaws, and I can see it getting nerfed if anything.
Agreed, quest warrior made me climb from rank 15 to 8, then I decided to play some midrange hunter, and got rank 5 ... it's funny because being a serious ladder player wasn't my focus before this expansion, first time I've passed rank 10
